More shopping and packing

Today was such a fun family bonding day. Well, i at least bonded with my aunt, my two baby cousins, and my granny. At around 12, i went over to my grandma's house to take them out for some Judy time. They asked what i had in mind and i told them, "shopping!" So they quickly got changed and tried to rally up my other aunts. While they changed, my favorite little cousin came up to me and boasted about starting school this year. He then lead me to his closet full of school clothes, ready to wear. It was so darling. I ended up getting shoes and a lot of random things for my apartment. I'm trying to find cute little furnishings to transform it into a "home." You know you're getting old when you get excited over buying home appliances. I'm currently in a sandwich making phase, so i was really happy when i got a sandwich maker. Yay for toasty things. I'm not sure how long this phase will last. I think i remember going through a yogurt/fruit phase for awhile, breakfast bars, and so many others that i can't even think of them.

While i was out all morning and afternoon, LS stayed home and made lasagna. I think she overdosed on the sugar, but all in all she did a wonderful job. LS's cooking is very unpredictable. When my older sister was home, we were all under a healthy diet. Our cooking drastically changed and a lot of the things made were undoubtedly questionable. My family keeps asking me what i'll eat when i go back to school because they all know my cooking skills are lacking. We'll just wait and see. I'm not a total kitchen nightmare. Where is the faith?

Isn't that box darling? It's a very warm, light brown color. I like to surround myself with calming, vintage-esque things. I don't know why i absolutely adore this box, but i'm so glad i bought it. The detailing is really intricate and i just love the hand-painted flowers.

Tomorrow is another fun-filled day. I resume my packing. I have plans of rummaging my attic and piling my crap into my tiny car. To start the day, i wake bright and early at 6 to take my little brother to school. At least LB is being good and sleeping early.

Rings and Traveling Pants

If your life is miserable, why take others down with you? A miserable world won't make you happy. Today i met a really mean, smelly, fat lady at wal-mart. The key to shopping happy is knowing that whatever happens...the customer is ALWAYS right. Not in this case. LS and i went to a self check-out lane. When it was time to pay, i opted for exact change...except this machine doesn't accept change. So i told the fat woman and she stood next to me and kept inserting the coins in over and over while we watched the coins come tumbling out over and over. Who does that? She was so rude about it, too. I think she's racist. She was giving me attitude as if she owned the place. PUH-LEASE. LS and i walked away in a huff because she was so mean. To walk off the steam, we decided to take a stroll through the mall.

I noticed that i'm more so a germaphobe in public than at home or surrounded by people i know. I don't like people i don't know touching me. If we happen to brush by each other, i have to "brush" off the germs...with my own germs? I know, logically, it does not make sense but who cares? For instance, if someone touches my right arm, i take my left hand and do a sweeping motion around the place where i was touched. Thus, i "brush" away the germs. That sounds even more stupid after i broke it down.

Since i went shopping today, i came home with goodies.

I don't know why i look like a duck and LS looks like she's a wannabe street fighter. Anyways, Ls has been wanting a ring since forever and she finally found something she liked. It looks like a gladiator ring. I'm not much of a ring person myself, but i'm a lemming so that explains why i have one, too. You can clearly see how white LS is compared to me. I'm tan!

I watched a feel good movie in a feel good crowd. It was amazing to see the synchrony. We watched traveling pants 2. At exactly the right moments, every girl in the room went "awww" or "ohhh." It was so funny. Unfortunately, i'm sorely bad at timing myself. I was always a little too early to "aww" at the right moments. Who wants to be part of the crowd anyways?

Austin

One of my favorite things to do in austin is shop. First, we hit the outlets. It was incredibly hot today, around 105. At one point, i saw 113 degrees. We walked around the Round Rock outlets first and i ended up buying these fabulous wide legged pants and an argyle sweater. The bad thing about buying pants is that they usually never fit perfectly unless i get them altered. Sometimes all i need is a good hem, but other times the pants require an overall fix. Amazingly, i walked away without any shoes. I'm so proud of myself. Next, we hit the Drag in Austin. The best thing is killing two birds with one stone: exercise and shop. There are great vintage shops on the strip. I almost bought these amazing red boots. I decided against buying them because they were two sizes too big. I did, however, end up at Wish. I bought this lovely black shirt and a bright yellow...thing. I'm thoroughly amazed with it. The only problem is that i don't know when i can wear it or even how to wear it. I think i can come up with something. I was taken over by the beautiful color and breeziness of the whole dress/shirt thing. I asked my friends if i should buy it and they say what they always say, "you can make it work, no matter what you're wearing." Gosh darn it and a bucket of rice.

I met two random people in austin. Austin's slogan - keep austin weird - rings true...it IS the place where the weird come out to play. The first lady asked me my heritage and proceeded to talk about Miss Saigon. It was interesting because i told her the lead was played by a filipina on broadway. She then told me she was there when the viet and flip community rioted about what "heritage" the lead should be. Of course she asked me for my opinion as well, "which side are you on?" was how she phrased it. The next guy i met was CRAZY and smelly. He kept following us around and totally creeped me out. I would talk about the details of our conversation, but i'm too tired to talk about old, smelly guy.

I tried to sleep early on sunday, but the lovebird's nest i stayed at was busy as hell. They kept having rowdy sex all through the night. The worst part, i think, is that the walls are paper thin.

--MOAN, GROAN, HEAVE--
-SHHHH-
--MUSIC--
--MUSIC, MOAN, SHH, MUSIC, GROAN--

And so on and so on. I don't know how i ever got sleep.

The interview was nice. I took a gosh darned pop quiz about stuff i should know but don't. I ended up getting lost trying to get out of the place. So basically, i kind of feel defeated. I always get that feeling after anything i haven't/can't fully prepare for. My mom called me and asked my how it went.

MA- How do you feel about it?
ME- I don't know, i stupid.
MA- It's ok, did you pray over it?
ME- Of course.
MA- Well, did you drink your vitamins? You know, they probably saw how tiny and sickly looking you were and decided against hiring you. Who would want a girl who can't do any work because she's sick all the time. That's why you need vitamins. Drink your vitamins and you'll get it next time.
ME- Thanks for cheering me up.

It was so darned hot today. It was a bloody 105. I went straight to a gas station after the interview to fill up my empty tank before i headed home. Since it was so hot, i ended up covertly changing into a slip dress while i was filling up my gas. I opened up both my doors to shield myself and did a quick change. I think noone saw. LOL

Peaches, Henna and Scarves

I woke up early to shower and shave. Good lord it feels good to have smooth legs. I was originally going to wear a white dress, but it so happens that i needed a slip. I couldn't find one so i opted for black pants and a white top. This mini-vid is so random. I'm eating peaches. I think that's the fifth one i had. You can see my wrinkles and my big pimple on my cheek that i tried to cover up. Anyways, we ended arriving at the shoot just on time. The shoot was amazing, the photographer was amazingly sweet and little sister was charming on set. For the first time under pressure, her mood was amiable. How wonderful. Since we woke up so early, for lunch we had sushi. I haven't had sushi in so long! It totally pains me to pay, but it was alright. Everyone walked away full and happy. We left the house at 9 and came home at 3.

We changed and got ready to henna. I started out with little sister's hair and then finished older sister's. It's really messy, but really easy to do. If you're wondering how to henna your hair, wait for my how to vid. Of course i took this opportunity to crank out a youtube vid. It's sor tof like a kill two birds with one stone sort of deal. They still have their heads wrapped in henna. I think they're leaving it in for at least 5 hours before washing it out. Although i wore gloves to put the paste on, my hands are still orange tinted. I'm pretty sure their scalps are orange, too. I accidentally swiped some henna on their ears and face, so there might be patches of random orange everywhere. It's kind of funny.

I have a high tolerance level or at least i think i do. There are just somethings that really irk me. It annoys me that some people will talk on their cellphone while they're in a group. That is just so rude. This pertains to my older sister. She talks to her bf almost all day. So when we (little sis and i) spend some time with her, we expect her to sit and talk with us. Have a little respect and enjoy or company. Actually, you don't even have to enjoy, feign enjoyment at least. But no, she is constantly talking on the phone while she is with us all the time. It might be her bf's fault, but it doesn't matter. They're both so selfish sometimes. So when she said, "i hate ya'll," it really annoyed me. First of all, why do you think me and little sis are so close? Because when you are with us, you ignore us. Who am i supposed to talk to if i can't talk to you? Well, the other person that is there. We both had a goal this summer to better our relationship with you, but it's so hard when effort is not reciprocated.

Sorry for the bout of vanity here, but i bought a scarf! It's tres fab. I know it's too early to break out the thick scarves, so i bought a neutral lightweight scarf to rock the day. I needs to protect my skin from the texas heat! AHAH I don't know why i have a dopey expression, my bad. I also bought a pair of bright blue tights. It's got a retro feel to them. Now, i'm on the search for cute MJ shoes. I need to get shopping out of my system before school starts up. The first few weeks of school should be a breeze. That's good because i've been missing my austin shopping. When i'm in austin, i miss home shopping and vice versa. Sigh, i can never get best of both worlds. I was actually going to write some news related story, but i'm too lazy. I'm slowly catching up with the local/worldly news. I'm rather excited because i've lost touch with it ever since i left News 8. Gots to slowly reel it back in. Yummy food for the mind.

Cute picture of the day.

I knit, but now i want to learn how to crochet.

Clinique vs. Biore

You are looking at the Clinique pore minimizer thermal active skin refiner. I used this for awhile to target blackhead and pores. It was really good, but at a price of roughly $28 for a teensy 2.5 oz, is it really worth it? So off i went looking for a new product. I am, after all, a college student and a bargain shopper.

I saw this on sale and wanted to try it out. It's got similar ingredients and claims to do the same thing, for a fraction of clinique's price. So after using it for about 1-2 months, i can honestly say i love biore. If you combo this with an electric toothbrush as an exfoliator, it does wonders. The thing is, you have to be patient and religious with your regimen. This works really well on my skin, but because everyone has different skin types it might not work well on others. So if you are allergic to certain ingredients, make sure to check carefully before use.

I've been on a shoe craze lately or rather, more so than usual. I went to the mall yesterday intending to buy little sister an outfit for her senior pics. Out of the corner of my eye, i saw a shoe sale! What beauty! I walked in and spotted a really cute pair for $30. I ended up walking into the store, buying the shoes, and leaving the store in under 8 min. What an impulse buy. Good grief. Maybe this isn't so hard to imagine, but my things are still in boxes. So i generally have a well-put together outfit, minus the shoes because i'm too lazy to unbox my box of shoes. That just gives me an excuse to buy more shoes because i don't have shoes on me. What a lame excuse. In addition, i bought panties. My collection of colorful underwear is getting too colorful for me. I think the next time i go shopping for panties, i'm going to go for simple neutrals. I had this discussion with a couple of my girlfriends awhile back about lingerie. The point of having sexy lingerie is to wear it for someone, preferbly your significant other. But what if you don't have a significant other? Should you just buy it for yourself to feel sexy? I mean, i've always heard about the whole dressing appropriately thing coupled with the dressing naughty underneath it all thing. Hmm, i don't care enough at this point to buy a hot-stuff bustier.

When i flip through youtube, i'm amazed at how consistent some members are. I don't get the whole, "I know, i'm slacking because my last vid was a week ago." It's only a week, i guess i can forgive you. But that sure makes me seem like a lazy fool. So i thought it was funny when i received a comment saying, "it's been awhile since your last vid..." It's only been 5 days? Blah. Anyways, i like natural lighting. I like how the sun adds a certain glow to my green room when i open the blinds. It's really peaceful. I don't know why i chose green as my wall color. I guess i just wanted life in my room. Rather than spending time taking care of plants or fish, i'd rather my room BE life.

I've never been big on pranks, but this one sure sounds fun. A lady from oregon realized one day that her ceramic dog lawn decor was missing. She thought that was the last of him until postcards started arriving, updating her on the dog's adventure. Apparently, the pranksters took the ceramic on a month-long tour across the states. When it was time to give the ceramic dog back, the pranksters also returned two more puppies. How darling. [source] That kind of reminds me of the whole gnome traveling thing. I'm not sure if it's a commercial or part of a movie, but you basically take pictures of a garden gnome in various places doing various things to document your time there. I kind of wanted a garden gnome until i saw the size of that thing. I'd rather lug around necessities.

Cute picture of the day.

Portable piano! You can roll up this hello kitty piano and take it on the go. Instant music!

6-8 Day

Eventful things that happened today:

I exercised! - I woke up at 6 to get ready. I went with my mom, older sis, and dad. We headed to the gym in arlington. There was a bootcamp thing that my mom, sis and i did for an hour. It was achingly hard because i am out of shape! I was wheezing in between every break alloted. Gross.

My momma got a ticket. - Apparently, there is a new law newly implanted. If there's a car stuck in the emergency lane, than you are supposed to leave the lane adjacent free or slow to 20 miles under the speed limit. My mom didn't know that and was ticket by a fat, white, lady cop. She was actually distracted too. My older sister was yelling at her for wanting to buy me a mini cooper. When we got pulled over my sister still wouldn't back down. Sigh.

I got a mini cooper S today in pepper white! - She is utterly gorgeous. I initially wanted laser blue, but then i realized it was too boy for me. I want a girl car. And she is a classic! It's kind of an off-white, creamy color. It's really nice inside and it should be coming in 6-8 weeks. My mom didn't like the arlington dealership, so we hiked out booties up to Dallas. Jorge, our sales person, was fantabulous. I found out minis are produced by BMW. I didn't know that! It takes a long time to ship because they are manufactured in England. Yay! I've been thinking of a name for her all day. For some reason, i like the name Fiona. I also like Doris, like Doris Day!!

I went window shopping! - Since we were in dallas, we stopped by sam moon because my mom saw that it was busy and wanted to be part of the commotion. Sam Moon is boring. It was way too crowded and stuffy for me. We stayed there for awhile and by that time i was sleepy as heck.

Helped my mom order ice cream cake at Baskin Robbins. - We drove from dallas all the way back down to arlington to place the order. I ordered a heath bar sundae; It was delish. My mom ate some too. We ended up ordering an expensive cake for her old-people-party. White ice cream with choco cake. Yum. Walking out, i saw someone from SU. I would've never thought i'd see anyone from there. It was awkward because we know of each other and have friends that know of each other, but we don't really know each other. I kinda looked passed him pretending i didn't see him. Ahh, cold.

Napped for 2 hours - That is pure bliss! I got home around 5.30 and was tired as a dog. I remembered changing clothes and plopping on my bed. Sinking into the pillows, i knocked out. I woke around 8 ish. I ate leftovers for din and climbed up the stairs to record a little parody for a youtube thing. It should be fun.

Last but not least, it's the BF's Birthday! - I didn't see him all day, but i hope he had a wonderful birthday. We are celebrating it late because i was tied up today. I don't know what to do. Decisions, decisons.

Cute picture of the day.

Not cute, but mucho cool.

Mini VS Toyota

My mom is two things: annoying and funny. Unlike the other day where i felt like i was 10, she allowed me to grow up a little...to 16. I don't know what was up with today but people wanted to kill me. After all the near-accidents, my mom concludes that i'm one of the worst drivers on the road. Oh great. I was already peeved at her for waking me up at 10, so she took us out to eat at Bistro B. Food made me less grouchy. Afterwards we headed towards the asian market to do a little shopping. We took the food home and set off to look at cars. We had our sights out on the mini cooper s and the toyota prius hybrid.

We looked at the mini cooper first. I test drove two cars and really liked them. The SA strapped me into the driver's seat and proceeded to explain to me all the functions. He was really nice, the only thing was that he spat a lot whenever he talked. So my whole thigh was covered in spit. It was really nasty. While i was in the car, i found myself talking to it already. I kept encouraging it and patting it so that it would run. My mom laughed and said that it did need a little encouragement, kind of like the little engine that could. My mom is fascinated and loves it to death. "it's so cuuutee." I'm just concerned about the space issue. I don't want people i haul around to feel cramped. There's little room, but it's also very spacious at the same time. I don't know if that makes sense. It's short and wide; there's a lot of comfort space for the driver and passenger. I've picked this color. I really like this clear blue they offer. Pair it with a white roof and it looks extremely delectable. The problem is that there are no cars on the site to buy. We have to order it and have it shipped to us. It takes about 6-8 weeks, roughly a month and a half to two months. After thoroughly examining the Cooper, we hiked our booty down to the toyota dealership to look at the prius.
We couldn't even test drive this one. There were no available ones on site. They are all sold out. My mom described it as, "sold as fast as shrimp in the asian supermarket." I already knew she didn't like it, but i wanted her to give it a chance. We were able to look inside of it and even then, my mom was putting it down. In my mom's words, "it looks like a mouse." The wait for this car is about 6-9 months, roughly a year to actually receive one. There's a long waiting list. The most appealing to me about this car is that it's extremely fuel efficient. There's also a lot of room in the back. I do admit, it's ugly but not bad. We talked to the SA for a little bit and then went home to talk to my dad about it.

When we came home, my mom went off on how ugly the mousy car was. She says that i like it because i'm born in the year of the cat and cat's like mouse. YES! Good reasoning mom. My dad wanted to see a 3-D picture of it, so i went on the internet and popped up the prius. My dad described it as a black person. How so? Well, it's got a big butt. Great dad! They went on and on about how mousy and ugly the car was and how it was so weird that i liked it. When we started talking about the cooper, my mom described it in such a way that made me laugh extremely hard. She said that the cooper is "a happy car." The eyes are round and bright and it just...smiles - happy car! I told her the prius smiles and she says, not as bright and not as much as the cooper. It can't smile because it's a mouse! It's so weird talking about cars with the parents. I don't even know how to react or even defend myself in an argument.

I was watching Hell's Kitchen. Thank goodness Matt left. He seems so stupid. He has a stupid face; i just can't stand looking at him. My mom decided to buy an ice cream cake so that we can test it out and compare it to albertson's ice cream cake. It's really big and really yummy.

Cute picture of the day.

I really like this for some reason.

Class, ponies, and makeup

I don't have class today, but i do have a pimple on my nose and a meeting in the morning with my prof. I'm very tempted to pick at it, but i don't want a red splotchy nose for the rest of the day. This morning i woke up and decided against my better judgment not to shower. I just slapped on something on face and went about my daily business. I turned in a paper that i finished on weds and got some notes from my prof. Then, i ran to my other meeting. While i was there, my friend said that i looked tired. So after the meeting i went home and showered. I feel so fresh! I got compliments on how awake i looked and how my hair was good! Oh, joyous occasion! At around 12ish, i went to lunch with my friends. It was nice and very relaxing. Then i went to my chinese exhibition. For my final project, i painted a pony!

This project was based on creativity. I went to walmart and bought a pre-made animal. Then i got yellow, blue, and black paint and started coloring. I don't know why i chose those colors. I just knew i wanted something bright. I can now call it an "asian" pony because it's all yellow. Har har. My pony is a bad ass pony because it's branded with my name on one cheek and the chinese character for horse on the other. I also wrote pages of just the word horse to show that i did more than just paint. I hope he gives me an A in that class. I asked him if i was "A-ok." He kind of gives me a look and says, i think we're just "ok." DARN it! If i knew what kind of wishy-wash grader he was i wouldn't have taken this class. After the exhibition, i took the little pony home. I'm going to give it to the bf! I hope he likes it and thinks it's cute. I kind of wanted to do the whole "my pink pony" thing, but i didn't want to mix colors to make pink.

This afternoon, we have our Spring Mall Ball. It's a really fun, family event where you just come out and chill. There's also good food. Tchyea! Tonight i'm broomballing with APO. I've never been to something like that, so i'm excited. I'll bring my camera so that i can share the experience! After broomball, i think there's an after party? I'm so out of the loop. I have no idea what's going on. I only knew about it because apo-ers told me about it. Whatever. Besides that, i'm really excited. I purchased makeup on ebay! I'm riskay. My new hobby is playing with makeup. I think it's fun and really interesting. The only problem is that i can't really play with makeup if my colors are limited. To solve that problem, i bought 40 shades of mineral eyeshadow on ebay!
I love mineral makeup. It's easy to apply and you can get to different looks with the colors. By manipulating the mineral, you can get a wet/dry look. It's really neat. The colors look gorgeous and i cant wait to get them in. It's a brand that's based in hk, china called leishi. I did thorough research before i went and bought this off ebay, so don't you worry. I'm very careful when it comes to internet shopping. The whole thing cost me $20, including shipping and handling. I also bought the colors, not just to experiment and expand my collection, but because i'm planning on making a vid tutorial for my friend. She said her dress was maroony/black, so i wanted to try to get some colors that could give her an idea of what to do. The ebay person said that it would come in 10-14 days. I hope it comes in before i leave for home. Sigh.

The reason why i went on ebay is because i think the stores sell a limited amount of brands. I don't believe in paying $20 for one MAC eyeshadow, when i can easily get another brand for a lot cheaper. Some say the quality is what's different, but i'm sure you can find shadows of the same quality at a lower price. I know that there are tons of mineral makeup that gives you the same effect that MAC does. The only bad thing is that they are usually found online, like The She Space. People just have to be open to the possibility. I also like unconventional uses of products and the thrill of a good find. A good example would be Monistat's chaing relief powder/gel as a makeup base primer. You probably think i'm insane for putting this kind of stuff on my face, but the thing is...it works! The brand is known for treating yeast infection, that doesn't mean you should overgeneralize because this product doesn't treat that. This product is geared towards treating skin. The reason why i use this as a primer is because i don't want to spend lots of money on the much raved about, Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP), when Monistat gets the job done beautifully. What makes monistat work? It's the active ingredient, dimethicone, that's found in all expensive primers. Dimethicone creates a barrier for your skin which evens out your skin's surface. The reason why i use it? It keeps my face oil-free, keeps makeup looking fresh, and so much more. [read more here] I absolutely love it because it's accessible (Target, Walmart), cheap ($7), and easy to use.

The only con i can think of is that people are going to think you've got some body problems. My friends think i'm weird for using it, but i don't care. I use it on their face all the time, especially when i'm doing their makeup.

Have you heard of expensive poop? Well, in a NY auction, a pile of 130 million years old dinosaur dung was sold for nearly $1,000. The fossilized dung is from the Jurassic era. The buyer was Steve Tsengas of Fairport Harbor, Ohio. The 71-year-old owns OurPets, a company that sells products to treat dog and cat waste. "Poop," he said, "is a big business in the pet industry." [source] Isn't that crazy? I bet it's like a big pile of mud. Who knew dung could be so expensive, much less a dino's.

Cute picture of the day.

That's such a cute hair pin.

Shoes & Cram Fest

I realized that when you exercise, you shouldn't pay attention to the time. Why? Because time seems to pass by slower if you keep tabs on your timely progress. I was elliptical-ing while the bf called. I was way out of breath to talk coherently. Somehow he knew and we hung up. Theres a pouch on my stomach that i'm trying to rid. It's so hard?! I can work my upper abdominals, but my lower gets neglected. I don't intentionally not work on my lower, i just don't know how. I think i might look it up and see whats up. I'm glad i got my lazy self out of bed today because last night i had a major midnight snack. I was so hungry!! I ate dinner at 5, so by the time it was midnight i was grumbling. My friends and i decided to go to Taco Bell because i was craving greasy mexican. We went through the drive-through because it was 2 min till midnight. The girl taking our order was peeved. She was all, "can you hurry...we are going to close." We told her that we had 3 separate orders and she said, "can you make it one?" It took us a long time to decide because...we are indecisive! In the end, she rushed us so much that we drove off to Whataburger. I love greasy burger. I used to think Whataburger was Waterburger. The names sound so similar. Anyways, i ate a Whataburger Jr. It was so yummy, and butter, and greasy. I kind of felt my heart clog, but it was so good. I haven't had a burger in so long. Usually i opt for something less fattening. My older sister always nags me about eating healthy. I guess it rubbed off on me.

The bf visited today and it was wonderful. We went shopping! After eating at Hayashi (i always eat there), we went to DSW. There was a major shoe sale! I want to go back this weekend to see if i can pick up more things. I bought two pairs! I have to post up pictures later. One is a darling pair of purple, pointy flats and the other is a gold heel. They both have a cool, retro feel. I'm really excited. Then we went to Old Navy, where i bought a pair of pants for $6. Too bad it's freaken tight on me. I have to either lose weight or exercise more because it rides right up my butt crack. No one wants to see that. My day was also filled with lots of meetings. After the meeting, the bf left nad i had to do homework. It was a major cram fest. I finished at 3 ish. I'm pooped. Reminder to self: DON'T WAIT LAST MINUTE!

So Fresh!

Today was so fun! The bf and i went downtown to visit the water gardens. It's so beautiful. You can walk down to the center and watch the water come down all around you. I never knew this place ever existed. The architecture was brilliant. I'm just so amazed that someone came up with this idea. There were so many details that i loved about the peaceful place. Although it's right next to a university, it's really quiet. I think it would be a perfect place to exercise, run, read or just have some alone time. It was relatively small so we went through the garden pretty fast. All of them had its own uniqueness. Today was overall really pleasant. The sun was out and the wind blowing. If anything, it was a little chilly. We ate subways (yum for lunch!) at the gardens, i think at a place called mountain garden? We had time to kill before picking up little brother, so we decided to walk around the mall. I picked up a shirt at old navy for 5 dollars. I love deals. It's a really simple shirt with puffed sleeves and a v-line neck. I aim towards chic simplicity.

Afterwards, we went to watch a movie.
I can safely say that Horton is one of my heroes. He is just so darned inspiring. I wasn't introduced to Dr. Seuss books until i was older, but i wish i was. There is so much meaning behind the movies/books that i doubt most children would understand anyways. It's just that the literature Dr. Seuss writes is so imaginary, whimsical, fantastical, magical and all the wondrous words combined, that it makes it hard to concentrate on the substance that's overshadowed by the pictures and creatures created. It's such a sweet movie and the best part (i think) is that it inspires (you to believe, perhaps?)! I laughed a lot throughout the movie because it was just so darned cute. The ending was spectacular and it was well made overall. The voice cast was also amazing. The mayor and his wife are Steve Carrell and Amy Poehler, and Jim Carrey of course is Horton. I like Steve Carrell. Besides this movie, i think i liked him best in little miss sunshine. He is a little overrated, but i don't mind. Amy Poehler is sweet because she believes! She is the funny lady of SNL. I've never been a big fan of Jim Carrey's comedy, but i think he fits the character of Horton. I'm glad he was casted. Carol Burnett plays the mean-head Kangaroo. Perhaps she is most famous for her show, The Carol Burnett Show. I didn't watch it because it was way before my time, but i've seen some episodes and her slapstick comedy is amusing. I also know her from the original movie-musical, Annie. She was that mean wench that owned the orphanage. And last but not least, Jesse McCartney voices JoJo, the weird kid. He's quite forgettable, but he was definitely charming.

I watched an episode of (America's Next Top Model) ANTM. I don't know if i really like this season. The girls were kind of not pleasing to the eye. Most of them were either catty or personality-less. There's this one girl (i think her name was Dominique) that is just so darned weird. In every season, you always have the "i'm already the winner" girl. She thinks she's all that, so she talks about herself in third person. Is that really cool? I personally think she looks old. I hope she doesn't win. I was happy to see that this episode included the fabulous, Benny Ninja. Last semester i watched a documentary on trannies living in NY and loving VOGUE. I can't believe the house of ninja is still going on! I'm glad, it's definitely culture and i hope it lasts for a long time. He vogues like no other and watching the house of ninja vogue was eye-popping. It's distortion and femininity mixed into one. It's quite neat. Anyways, this is the first ep i've seen of ANTM, so i don't have a fave yet. I didn't watch last season either. As you can see, i've moved onto BRAVO. The only time i revert back to old school tv is when i'm at home. It's not all bad.

All in all, i think my break has been going so well. I think the best part of it is spending most of the time with the bf. I love the pics i'm taking that documents my week and i'm excited to put them up. They'll probably be posted on fb. Rather than posting a million pics in a post, i'll link up the album for easy viewing. The bf is quite artsy fartsy with his picture taking skills. All this and he doesn't even have his own camera. Amazing, little grasshopper learns fast!

Now onto news. So when life gets hard, what is a man to do? Well, here's an option: auction off your life. Where would you do that? On Ebay of course! Oh, the crazy things we humans do. An Australian man is ebaying his house, job, clothes, and friends in attempt to start up a new life after a broken marriage. [read more here]. The man, Ian Usher, is starting the auction on June 22. If you're interested, check his website www.alife4sale.com, which provides a link to eBay for bidders. "When it's over, I will just walk out the front door, take my wallet, my passport and start a new life," he said. Is this a bit extreme or worth it? I really like ebay, but i don't know if i'd bid on something like that. It's a bit riskay. I hope all things go well with him. I think after a heartbreak, he deserves to start fresh. Why can't he just move to a new place? Isn't that easier? I guess some people like to leave an impression.

Cute picture of the day.

AWW, Aren't Asian babies darling! Pudgey-pudge!

Rainy Days are Happy Days

Today is an overall happy day except for a few mishaps, but i'm sure i'll get to that later. I woke up to the clapping of rain. Well, actually i woke up to my little sister saying/yelling, "EWW! Little brother peed in his bed...AGAIN!" That's really nasty. Are boys in general impossible to potty train at such a "young" age? He is in 4th grade. Anyways, it's been raining nonstop all day. It's horrible. I thought i'd have to stay in because my dad said, "don't go anywhere; it's dangerous!" I ignored his request/demand and went to the bf's house to hang out. It was fun. We ate korean food for lunch at samwon garden. It was delish. Afterwards, we went to the mall. I finally got my dark-wash, skinny jeans today. They were at Forever 21. It's so pretty. Then, we got ice cream at coldstone for ice cream. I got the yummy coffee light ice cream with crushed heath bars. I love heath bars.

Now, for the unfortunate mishap. I only think these type of things only happen in movies (and weird people), but life threw a curve ball at me. I'm now one of the weird people. Oh well, there's always a first for everything. So, it was raining really really hard and i was was wearing flip flops because my rain boots are at school. There were humongous puddles, so the bf carried me on his back for a piggy-back ride because i trip really easily. Note to self, not a good idea when you're a GOHP (look at previous entry for acronym definition). Needless to say, my pants were kinda ruined and his jacket was kinda stained. I felt kind of embarrassed and irked that i let this happen (good thing the feeling didn't last more than 15 secs). But the bf made me feel better because he wasn't ragging on me about it. He duly noted that i was kind of happy and giddy in the car, despite the condition i'm in. He said this because i was dancing around in the car and cracking jokes with a wide smile on my face. Anyways, i patched things up at his house. While i was washing the stain out, the bf gave my bball shorts to wear. AH-HA! Another one to add to my budding collection.

One of the craziest things in the world is traffic. I don't really understand this. Well, i understand that it happens, but why. The reasons why people slow down are either reasonable or really stupid. Reasonable traffic is like when there is a huge car accident that occupies 3 out of 4 lanes. You just have to suck it up and drive in that one lane. Stupid would be when theres a huge car accident on the other side of the freeway and the only reason there is a hold up is because people are nosy and want to see the action on the other side of the road. I just understand people. When you slow down, people behind you slow down. And then there are the braker-happy people. They brake for every reason, even if the car in front of them (which is 10 million feet away) is braking. What the heck. I understand the whole personal bubble concept, but that's just a little too much. The two things i don't like about Texas is the unpredictable weather and traffic. The times to avoid the road (in general): 9 o'clock morning rushing hour and 5 o'clock evening traffic.

On another note, a girl is sportin' the same sunglasses as me! The bf told me about her and i looked really closely at one of her pics and it seems very identical. I bought (well, the bf bought) those off ebay! Ebay needs to be a little more "one-of-a-kind." The only difference is that her shades are purple and mine are pink. Good thing i'm prettier! Now, isn't that shallow for you (har har). I'm actually just honestly accessing her physical features seen off of pics (since i've never met the girl). i think she's asian, but she has very "black" people features. She has a very distinct, prominent lip and her eyes are kind of droopy. On top of that, her hair has weird funky purple things in it. It looks like someone dropped paint in her hair and she was too lazy to wash it off. I'm beign quite mean. That's why i never say anything when people ask me what i thought of them the first time i met them - the whole, first impressions thing.

Now, the bf was given the task of looking up brilliant news, instead of the cute pic of the day. I really like the site he showed me. It's called fwdemails.com and it's really neat-o. I particularly like this post on cool inventions. It made me chuckle reading about the different inventions. Another really neat website to waste time on is thecutereport.com because it's pure cuteness. I liked looking at the cute animal posts. If you want to smile a little bit more, make sure to check out hellishhumor, especially this post. Isn't is so darned cute?

What is that and why is it, dare you ask, floating?

It's a bed! Can you believe it? I didn't until i read it. It's an air mattress that was invented by dutch deisgner, Janjaap Ruijssenaars. It's hovering 16 inches above the floor. Its secret is a matching set of repelling magnets, built into the bed and the floor below, that's powerful enough to support almost 2,000 lbs. [read more here] This is possibly one of the coolest inventions. The only thing is that it costs 1.5 mil. You have to admit, it's really easy to clean and you can never clutter stuff underneath the bed. This was introduced in '06, it's now '08. I'm telling you, we'll be living in space in no time. I'm already imaging The Jetsons in the near future.

Cute picture of the day.

Why swim when you can get a free ride?

Car Shopping

I love love dancing with the stars. Tonight the men danced and i'm so excited. I never get to watch it while i'm at school because of work, but it's so fun! I have to say that i'm quite excited about this season's cast. The guys were impressive. Mario was really smooth, Steve Guttenberg is all charm, Jason Taylor is handsome, Adam Carolla is weird, and Pen is amusing. I can't wait to watch the girls dance. I remembered watching Kristi Yamaguchi on ice when i was little. I'm so glad she's going to dance! Everyone should watch this fab family, dancing show. It'll make you want to get up, work out and dance!

It's back to car shopping. I'm excited because my parents say i can get any car i want. That means i'm not limited to SUV's. Wonderful! I've decided i like subcompact cars or hatchbacks. Right now, i have in mind: Honda FIT, Nissan Versa, Mazda 2, Toyota Matrix, VW GTIMkV 4 door (all latest models). My parents have a thing for asian cars, probably because we're asian and partially racist. [check here] That is a list of safety cars. My parent's number one priority is safety. Ever since i got into an accident with my Honda CRV (that i totaled), there has been a stigma against Honda's. Anyways, this isn't happening till summer, so i'll just wait till then to make a definite answer. One of the best things about buying a car is that the bf can help me! It has become a very enjoyable task.

With gas prices going up, we need an alternative way to get from point A to point B. Introducing the Aptera Hyrbid:
It's amazing how technology has changed. [read more here] Apparently it's a cross between a dolphin and a helicopter. Technically classified as a motorcycly, the vehicle will only be available to residents of California when it's initially produced. If the Aptera sells well, it might be offered to the national and international markets. This idea sounds amazing. I think we should move towards flying cars next.

My face has been breaking out. There are worst places than others, but it's definitely getting better. I'm so glad. At least my face isn't Amy Winehouse:
That looks nasty. She has some skin condition that she's getting treated for. It just looks awful. I feel bad for her. Her makeup is bad too. Even though it's her trademark look, it just isn't working for her. She needs a desperate makeover. I use this product for my acne called BenzaClin. It works miracles! The only bad thing about it is that it's doctor prescribed. My little sister has a whole jar and i'm mooching on it since i'm home for break.

Cute picture of the day.

All made of fruit! So tasty.

Crazy and Clean

Awkwardly intense people are just a bit too much for me to handle. Add in a little "know-it-all" arrogance and it's over for me. People are just crazy. It's weird how some people talk. There are some with a nice, soothing voice. It's a voice that i can listen to all day and more. There are some with a loud, obnoxiousness to it that you just wish they kept their mouth shut all day. It's so weird to talk and shout at the same time. I was talking to a person yesterday that was shouting/talking to me. Can you please use your indoor voice? Have you learned nothing from kindergarten? At least i learned that. Anyways, that's what i notice. People in general are crazy. I also learned a new word: hortatory - urging to some course of action; encouraging. Now, everyone must use it! It's pronounced just as it's spelled. I remembered when i was memorizing this monologue/play i had to learn eleemosynary. I thought (and still think) it's one of the coolest words out there. That play was weird and i can't believe i even attempted to memorize it. It's a one-act play that follows the relationship between three generations of women.

Don't you hate it when you walk out of taking a test realize that you royally screwed yourself? I sort of feel like that. I don't know what i was thinking. Well, i think i might be a tad over dramatic, but i kind of wish i sat there and thought a little bit more. I knew Burke's reading on Terministic Screes, yet i didn't write about the topic. Why do i always blank at the last minutes. BIG SIGH! I was walking on the sidewalk and there was this lady with 3 wiener dogs. The first two were kinda ugly: long and uber skinny. The third one, however, was too cute for words!! It was white and light brown. The little thing was pudgey and just a baby! I'm not a big fan of those type of dogs, but that one was really, truly cute. I don't know what's up with the animal pics today. Seeing those little dogs reminded me of Ollie. I miss that little sucker ball.

I went to Hayashi today for lunch. I was craving soup, so i got Tempura Udon. It's so yummy. I love udon. I think i can just eat the noodles by itself. Afterwards, i went shopping around wolfe ranch. Since it's smaller than usual shopping centers, it was easy to go through. I went to Old Navy and bought me a pair of shorts! Now, i usually buy things even if they aren't my size and try to make it pass for my size. Obviously, something is wrong if your shorts are a tug away from dropping. For some reason when i shop, i only find sizes 3 and up. I'm not a 3, but i buy 3's anyways. Thats not a good idea. Anyways, i found a nice pair of shorts that are just cutesy. [sneak a peek]
They are cuter in person. The best part about the shorts? They fit me nicely. I also like the dark wash color. I'm ready for summer/spring! Today, it's a sweltering 94 degrees. What the heck?! What happened to spring? I hate it when Texas decides to skip seasons. Although the weather isn't to my liking, i'm happy! It's spring break! I've waited for this for so long! I did my spring cleaning today! I'm so excited. My room looks brilliant and happy...like me!! It took me a long time to pick up all my crap. I started sweeping and then i vacuumed the whole place down. The vacuum i used was so strong that it started to pick out some of my carpet. That was mildly intense. The internet was down for about 6 hours, from 12-6, so i couldn't jump on and update to waste my time. Since i didn't have anything to do, i started taking pictures of my room.
Now, to the virgin eye, one might think this desk is a cluttered mess! Oh, how you are wrong. I bought that fab desk from ikea. I love studying in my room. I used to not be able to, but now i'm ok with it. I might get distracted, but i don't care. I still get my stuff done.
I even made my bed!! Don't you love my two babies on my bed? I don't know why my folded comforter is kind of crumpled, but i like it. The walls are a bit bare. That's not my fault. I love decorating and the stupid walls just wouldn't hold anything i put on it. I was kind of upset for awhile, but quickly got over it. The walls are nice, not cluttered. If you are wondering, that red thing in the middle is a chinese zodiac thing. My dad took me out to eat and he stole me that thing and told me to keep it. So now, it's up on my wall.
I'm proudest of this. Sorry for the random things sticking out of my drawers. Apparently i didn't do too well cleaning that part. Anyways, i organized my makeup desk. Everything is nice, clean and tidy! Yay, now i know where everything is! I'm going home for spring break and spending time with the family and bf. I need a break from school. After awhile you don't have the energy to do anything at all. You just aren't motivated to do well and you settle for mediocre. I hate mediocreness. I am a very average person. I don't think i excel in anything, i just try really really hard. I've been using honey on my nose for awhile and it looks pretty good. If i see any drastic changes, i'll report the news. I'm not quite sure tho, so we shall see.

If you get bored often and want to surf the net but are out of ideas or places to serf, here is a suggestion. I found this sites while i was bored and procrastinating. I hope you have fun reading this as mush as i do! The site is called Photoshop Disasters. This makes me laugh. I never paid much attention to detail, but now i think i should. It's amazing what people will see if they just quietly observe.
This was published! Can you believe that? It's such a humungo dungo mistake. The thing is, would you have noticed if someone didn't already point it out? It's sort of like optical illusions. This project is fairly new, so i don't know how long it will run. I like the concept though. It's very original. If this site keeps up with the updates, then i'm pretty sure it'll become a hit in no time.

I'm listening to music as i'm writing this entry. The bad thing about listening to music is that your hearing is endangered. Why do i say this? While i was in class Weds, we were doing a couple of experiments testing the peoples audible range. Apparently, i'm lacking. I couldn't hear a lot of the higher pitches. I remember when i was little i was afraid of becoming deaf. I always imagined myself hearing random "ringings," similar to beethoven's case. That's scary as heck. Right now, i think i hear better in my left ear than in my right. Isn't that weird?

My room is exceptionally cold today. When i'm typing, i think all the blood is drained from my fingers because they are tilted upward. By the time i'm done, i'll usually have purple-ish, blue-ish hands. My palms turn color. I thought that was weird until i realized the trend. I'm a typing fiend. A lot of my friends say i sound like a machine gun. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Today's weather is just perfect for swimming and beaching. Is it time to look for another swim suit? Hmm.

Cute picture of the day.

It's like eating little men! Yum! And they are kind of heart shaped. Cutesy.

So Fierce!

And the winner is...

Christian!! I'm so excited. I love him. His personality is major and his talent is raw. I was rooting for him the whole way. His collection was the epitome of "fierceness." It was dramatic, big, fluffy, and wow. Victoria Beckham fell in love with his collection. It was like he custom made it just for her. Amazingly, he's only 21!

That was the last piece of his collection. Fierce, I know. The color contrast was beautiful and there was movement in the dress. So high fashion. I skipped work today to watch the finale. I'm such a devoted fan. I predicted that the final 3 would be Rami, Christian, and Jillian way before the finale. I don't know why i'm saying this now, it's not like there is substantial credit on my behalf.

I did nothing today. It was all school. I was surprised because it passed by seamlessly. I had braided my hair up last night thinking that i wanted a curly, whimsical look for the next day. I didn't take into account the crazy volume i generally have to deal with when i do that look. I ended up doing a side ponytail and stuck a sunflower hair clip in my hair. I was cute! Yay for sunshine, flower days.

I went to target and Old Navy with my friend. It was fun. I bought this shirt/dress thing on sale. It's navy and i think you wear it with tights? Maybe when i wear it, i'll take a couple pics. At target, i bought red lipstick! Not dull red, but bright red!
Sorta like this red. I don't know who that asian girl is, but i like her simple makeup. The red lip is such a statement and it's totally glam. I've always wanted to do a red lip, but was never brave enough to try it. I'm also not pale enough either. I don't know how it will look. I know that my eye makeup is going to have to be light and fresh. I'm going to make it work! If it doesn't, then i'll just have to shop around for a friendlier shade of red. I just love the bright red lip though. I hope it works for me. I've started to look around ebay when i'm bored. That's definitely not good. For some reason, i have taken a liking towards shutter shades. Apparently, Kanye West made them "cool" when he wore them in his Stronger video. I just remember him wearing it a couple times, i couldn't remember where thought. I don't know how they work. I just think they are so neat-o. Will they actually shade you? Shouldn't they have a nob to turn the blinds so actually shade your eyes from the sun? But if you do that, how are you going to see? This is so complicated. Anyways, if i were to buy a pair, i think i'd want white ones. I'd be the "cool" kid on the block. I've been looking for a new pair of pink sunglasses for the longest time. So, i turned to ebay for help. I wanted a pair of pink, vintage sunglasses to be exact. I found these during my search yesterday.
I'm so excited. I know, they might look weird and cheap and dorky...but i love them. Pink is my color. Be pink positive, that is key to a happy life! The bf bought them and now, they are coming! If this is a success, i'm going to turn to ebay as my fab vintage source. It's so hard to finding anything vintage that is reasonably priced around here.

I have cow observing tomorrow followed by lunch with my professor. Afterwards, i'm probably just going to work. The not so exciting life of me. The bf introduced me to a lovely singer. Her voice is so refreshing and her style is very...Judy. I don't know if that makes any sense. Most of the things i listen to, English to foriegn, all have the same feel. Her music is beautiful and her lyrics are very touching. Her voice is very light and magical, she will definitely calm you and capture your heart.
Her voice is very charming and i like her acoustics. I don't know her background or ehtnicity, but i do like her very much. I'm keeping my eye on her. Priscilla is a very talented lady. Another artist you have to check out is Yael Naim. [wiki] I know, she has a weird name. That was my initial thought as well. Her face is kinda weird looking. But then again, music shouldn't be superficial and be based off of looks. We already did that and that's why we have the talentless Britney Spears.
Yael actually looks really cute here. I guess you just have to watch one of her vids. From angles, she reminds me of Regina Spektor. Check them out!

It's almost spring break!! I'm counting down the days. I didn't mean to make this post so picture dense, but i love pictures! I just realized that this post is mainly about things i like...things i think are fierce. Gotta love.

Cute picture of the day.
