Class, ponies, and makeup

I don't have class today, but i do have a pimple on my nose and a meeting in the morning with my prof. I'm very tempted to pick at it, but i don't want a red splotchy nose for the rest of the day. This morning i woke up and decided against my better judgment not to shower. I just slapped on something on face and went about my daily business. I turned in a paper that i finished on weds and got some notes from my prof. Then, i ran to my other meeting. While i was there, my friend said that i looked tired. So after the meeting i went home and showered. I feel so fresh! I got compliments on how awake i looked and how my hair was good! Oh, joyous occasion! At around 12ish, i went to lunch with my friends. It was nice and very relaxing. Then i went to my chinese exhibition. For my final project, i painted a pony!

This project was based on creativity. I went to walmart and bought a pre-made animal. Then i got yellow, blue, and black paint and started coloring. I don't know why i chose those colors. I just knew i wanted something bright. I can now call it an "asian" pony because it's all yellow. Har har. My pony is a bad ass pony because it's branded with my name on one cheek and the chinese character for horse on the other. I also wrote pages of just the word horse to show that i did more than just paint. I hope he gives me an A in that class. I asked him if i was "A-ok." He kind of gives me a look and says, i think we're just "ok." DARN it! If i knew what kind of wishy-wash grader he was i wouldn't have taken this class. After the exhibition, i took the little pony home. I'm going to give it to the bf! I hope he likes it and thinks it's cute. I kind of wanted to do the whole "my pink pony" thing, but i didn't want to mix colors to make pink.

This afternoon, we have our Spring Mall Ball. It's a really fun, family event where you just come out and chill. There's also good food. Tchyea! Tonight i'm broomballing with APO. I've never been to something like that, so i'm excited. I'll bring my camera so that i can share the experience! After broomball, i think there's an after party? I'm so out of the loop. I have no idea what's going on. I only knew about it because apo-ers told me about it. Whatever. Besides that, i'm really excited. I purchased makeup on ebay! I'm riskay. My new hobby is playing with makeup. I think it's fun and really interesting. The only problem is that i can't really play with makeup if my colors are limited. To solve that problem, i bought 40 shades of mineral eyeshadow on ebay!
I love mineral makeup. It's easy to apply and you can get to different looks with the colors. By manipulating the mineral, you can get a wet/dry look. It's really neat. The colors look gorgeous and i cant wait to get them in. It's a brand that's based in hk, china called leishi. I did thorough research before i went and bought this off ebay, so don't you worry. I'm very careful when it comes to internet shopping. The whole thing cost me $20, including shipping and handling. I also bought the colors, not just to experiment and expand my collection, but because i'm planning on making a vid tutorial for my friend. She said her dress was maroony/black, so i wanted to try to get some colors that could give her an idea of what to do. The ebay person said that it would come in 10-14 days. I hope it comes in before i leave for home. Sigh.

The reason why i went on ebay is because i think the stores sell a limited amount of brands. I don't believe in paying $20 for one MAC eyeshadow, when i can easily get another brand for a lot cheaper. Some say the quality is what's different, but i'm sure you can find shadows of the same quality at a lower price. I know that there are tons of mineral makeup that gives you the same effect that MAC does. The only bad thing is that they are usually found online, like The She Space. People just have to be open to the possibility. I also like unconventional uses of products and the thrill of a good find. A good example would be Monistat's chaing relief powder/gel as a makeup base primer. You probably think i'm insane for putting this kind of stuff on my face, but the thing is...it works! The brand is known for treating yeast infection, that doesn't mean you should overgeneralize because this product doesn't treat that. This product is geared towards treating skin. The reason why i use this as a primer is because i don't want to spend lots of money on the much raved about, Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP), when Monistat gets the job done beautifully. What makes monistat work? It's the active ingredient, dimethicone, that's found in all expensive primers. Dimethicone creates a barrier for your skin which evens out your skin's surface. The reason why i use it? It keeps my face oil-free, keeps makeup looking fresh, and so much more. [read more here] I absolutely love it because it's accessible (Target, Walmart), cheap ($7), and easy to use.

The only con i can think of is that people are going to think you've got some body problems. My friends think i'm weird for using it, but i don't care. I use it on their face all the time, especially when i'm doing their makeup.

Have you heard of expensive poop? Well, in a NY auction, a pile of 130 million years old dinosaur dung was sold for nearly $1,000. The fossilized dung is from the Jurassic era. The buyer was Steve Tsengas of Fairport Harbor, Ohio. The 71-year-old owns OurPets, a company that sells products to treat dog and cat waste. "Poop," he said, "is a big business in the pet industry." [source] Isn't that crazy? I bet it's like a big pile of mud. Who knew dung could be so expensive, much less a dino's.

Cute picture of the day.

That's such a cute hair pin.
