Inspect your inseam

Where are the heels? Is this one of the craziest shoe inventions yet? With these, you can be 5.5 inches taller. Briton Antonio Berardi created a shoe without the basic heel, so what do you really call these things? " For the bargain price of £1,800, the wearer will get to totter around with all her weight balanced on a thickened platform sole." Apparently Posh and Uma already snagged a pair. I don't know if i can handle this, but it's rather interesting to see. [read more here] It's quite daring and i really like the color. I just don't know if my balance is up to the challenge. If someone knocks you over, that's it. I imagine a girl walking the busy sidewalks in this and someone just unfortunately bumps into them. Over they go, like a fallen tree or humpty dumpty. You don't even stand a chance. I guess that's why the trend hasn't hit the states yet. It's only available in England right now (i think).

Now, if you're wondering how to hem up jeans or want to know your actual jean length (well, at least the bf was wondering that), here's the way to go about doing that. It's really important to know your length because jeans or pants in general that are too long can be a hassle to deal with. Some people don't have the time to alter them, so what's the best solution? Well, it's to already know you're length so that when you shop, you can can look for something similar or close to it. I'm a really picky jean/pant shopper because i am short. I'm only 5'2, sometimes i say 5'3, but i really need to face reality and accept that i'm an inch shorter than i say i am. It's ok because my personality makes up for the height! I'm a larger than life person (har har). Anyways, here's what you need to figure out your length (or inseam):

A tape measure. I prefer using this loose one because it's easy to manipulate. However, if you don't have something like this, make do with whatever you have. For example, if you only have a dinky wooden ruler, use that. Basically, you need something type of measuring tool. You need your favorite pair of jeans. This is because you want to measure the inseam of this so that you can figure out your preferred length. Inseams differ for everyone, but it's a lot easier to figure it out on a pair that you like.

After you have your materials, it's going to be a breeze. You're going to lay out your favorite pair on the floor. Make sure that the jeans are flattened and smooth. If they are wrinkly, it might mess up the measurement. Here's a little picture to figure out what the inseam measurements should be:
Basically, you measure the inside length of your jeans. That part will always remain constant. You start measuring from the crotch down to the bottom of your jeans. Using your measuring tape, rest the tape onto your jeans. You will document your measurement in inches. Now, you have your inseam. This makes life a lot easier. For instance, if you need to get a pair of pants altered, you don't have to try them on at the alterations place. You can just say "inseam - 36." This makes shopping a lot easier too. Instead of guessing the length, you can already know what to choose and what your limit is. Generally for girls, you can go over 3 inches because of the whole heel factor. For guys, i believe the max is two. Basically, you don't want your jeans to sweep the floor as you walk. And if you really are handy, you can fix them up yourself. If you don't know how to, i would suggest you to take it to a pro before you mess up your jeans.

I love the BRAVO channel. If you ever come across me in front of the tv, 8/10 times i would be watching BRAVO. Here's the latest i'm ecstatic about, since my love, Project Runway, is over.

Top Chef Chicago! I've been following the last 3 seasons and i'm glad they came back for a fourth. There isn't a clear favorite yet, but i'm pretty sure i'll have one by the third episode. I missed the premiere because i thought it would be next week. Gosh darn! I love watching the quickfire challenges and how people clearly have a distinct cooking style. The one thing i have to complain about is Padma. I'm not sure i like her as a host. She's so bland to me. Sometimes her fashion sense is questionable as well. I sit there and thing, "what the heck is she wearing?!" Good thing she is slim and exotic looking, otherwise i'm pretty sure she'd be replaced. Besides that, i don't know if i like this season's chefs. I saw a glimpse of them and the first thing that came to mind was, "they're ugly." How shallow of me. I thought it was really funny that i thought that. Anyways, i'm sure they aren't so bad.
Work it out, work it out, you can always work it out. I love this show. I know, you probably think i'm crazy. It's just so addictive. At first i resented it for taking up so much air time, but after giving in and sitting through it, i can now say i am a true fan. The show is a mad mess. Jackie Warner has got some issues, but this lady is so amazing. I can't believe she's accomplished all that...and more. Her group of trainers are also addictive. They got major personality and issues. I'm kind of sad because some of my favorite trainers from last season are gone! The darling, Zen. She was just too cute for words. I don't know if this season will be any good, but i'm pretty excited to see it come back for another season. This should motivate me to work out more, but i don't know if it does. Just watching them work out on tv is a work out. Anyways, what's neat is that you can watch their work out regimens on the internet at the BRAVO site. They give you tips and how-to's to tone and work your body out.

Ever so often, i have people tell me that i'm fashionable or stylish. I must admit, i love fashion. It's one of my favorite past times, looking at clothes and exploring what works best on my body. Some of the things i wear is definitely out there, but it works. It's amazing to see that i put things together well. I get those random "eureka" moments that i wish happen more often. Anyways, my closet is filled with random articles of clothing. I love being unique and harboring things that most people don't have. That being said, i'm not a big shopper at Old Navy and A&F, but it doesn't mean that if there's a sale i won't go in. If i could go about shopping freely, i'd hit the vintage shops. I don't know if i have a distinct style, i just know i have a strong preference. There are things that just scream, judy! When you're shoppign with friends and people start saying, "that looks like something you'd wear," that's a good sign that you have a budding sense of style. That only works if what they pointed out is exactly what you would wear. My style is actually quite simple and minimal. I think the bf has caught on regarding the things i like. I'm quite impressed. He's got my music taste down and some of my fashion sense. I'm still a little iffy about his take on my shoe sense. We'll just have to test it out over the break. The newspaper dress to the right is tres chic, no? Very earth friendly.

Cute picture of the day.
