When I wait...
I woke up thinking today was monday. How killer would that be. I can't imagine not having the weekend to finish all my crap. I have a mental checklist of things to do, school wise. It's kind of scary. In class i watched a documentary on tattoos. It was actually really interesting. It's so painful looking; i don't know why people get it. Well, i do...i just still think it's stupid. There are other ways to express your devotion to something - religion, personal reasons, culture - other than inking yourself. Time flew by really fast. For some reason, i ended up sitting by the fountain for awhile. It was so nice. I like the breeze on my face and the peacefulness of everything. I don't know what's up, but my friend has been a total dumpy downer lately. I don't know how to kick her out of her mellow yellow state. It's really sad. Her face never lights up anymore. It's been like that for two days. What does that mean? Every time i ask, she just dismisses my comments. I hate it when things like that happen. Jeez.
I'm not a really big fan of Ashlee Simpson, but i really like her song "boys." It's so darned catchy! I first heard it on Dancing with the Stars. I was kind of confused at first, but after listening to it for awhile, i decided that i really like this song. I also like that Britney Spears song, "Piece of Me." What a shocker? No. I've always liked catchy songs. Albeit, they are pretty stupid. I don't care. When i listen to that Britney song, i imagine her dancing really. It makes me want to dance like that. Whooooo. I noticed that ever since i worked at News 8 Austin, i'm a little more conservative in the way i dress. I really like cardigans. I used to wear sleeveless things and tanks all the time, but now i also opt for a cardigan. Maybe it's because texas weather is always unpredictable and i want to be prepared for anything. That's how boy scouts get ahead. They are the think ahead thinkers.
Are you really crafty? Try this out: Straw Stars! Isn't it neat? The only star making i can do is with paper. If the instructions didn't look so hard, i would totally attempt it. It looks so complicated. This is when you should turn to youtube for help. You never know if people post these things up. I went through a crazy phase of star making. I had long strips of paper and i would devote tons of time making stars. I had jars upon jars filled with stars. It was beautiful. Then i got tired of making them, so i stopped. I know it's really hard to demonstrate the making process because i tried to teach a whole class. It was during high school and i was in speech class. I had to do a "how-to" speech and ended up choosing "how-to paper stars." I should have known i would have trouble. Heck, i had trouble learning it when my friend showed me one-on-one. Iwas like, " DERRR." Once you get the hang of it, it's super easy and super fun. It's also a good time waster. If you have nothing to do and you happen to have strips of paper lying around, it's fun to bust out your chops. The fun part is when you show someone and they are crazy amazed by your extraordinary talent.
I'm waiting for the bf to come so i can eat. In the meantime, i was looking through different makeup pictures to see if i can gather any inspiration. I think i'm going to do a vid on "how-to" makeup. My friend's prom is coming up and she wants to do her makeup own makeup to save money. That is a bold choice. I think if i had a choice to do it over, i would probably do my own makeup and hair too. For my prom, i had my makeup done by a pro at MAC. I loved it. It was beautiful, glam, and all of the above. The only problem was that i looked like a clown. I don't think my face can handle all that makeup. I remembered loving how she did my eyes. I just wished it wasn't on me. Sigh. Now, i guess that's another reason i like putting makeup on other people. My face just doesn't like makeup. That's why i always go for the subtle look. Anyways, her prom dress is maroon(?) and black. I already see a problem. I don't have those colors. Since i'm at school, my makeup collection is nada. I only have the basic colors. On top of that, i don't believe in buying expensive makeup. Why waste all your money on MAC when you can get so much more at your local Walmart or CVS. I don't see it. It's sort of like spending tons of money on a certain brand when the generic brand will do the same for you. The other concern i have making a how-to makeup vid is that i have to do it all in one take. Why? Because i don't know how to edit videos. I already tried using the program i have, windows movie maker, and i have no clue how to work it. I guess i have to ask my little sister for some tips. She's a little pro.
The bf came and we went out for lunch at McAlister's. I got bread bowl coup. It was super. Then we came back for a nap. I've been hearing bad things about today's weather. So far, it was smooth sailing. Up until we went to dinner. First of all, we couldn't find the place we wanted to eat at. Secondly, the wait took forever. That's what you get for hiring careless teenagers. When we were seated, the wait for the food took another hour. I never want to experience that again. It took us about 5 min to gobble our food. I ended up taking leftovers home. When we walked to the car, the storm was a lot more visible. My friend informed me about the tornado watch and the major t-storm/hail storm approaching the area. It scared me half to death. I was so scared that i ended up crying because i didn't want anything bad to happen to him on the drive home. Thankfully, he called me and told me that the storm was settling down. The storm was also going the opposite direction into Austin. That is a really good sign. I hope all things are o.k. For right now, i pray he's safe. Whenever he left, i turned to food to comfort me. I'm glad i have a loaf of bread because i was munching on that thing up until the bf called to reassure me of his security.
Ever since i worked at News 8 Austin, i always point out a news truck. I guess people do that all the time? Well, a carjacking suspect stopped during the crime to ask a television news crew for directions, police said. The 19-year-old was arraigned Thursday on a charge of aggravated robbery and ordered held on $50,000 bond. WOIO-TV newswoman Shannon O'Brien and photographer Eric Walls were doing a sidewalk report Monday on bank problems when the passenger in a car asked for directions to a bank. The driver signaled that he was being held at gunpoint, O'Brien told police. The news crew called police and followed the car until officers caught up. Police Lt. Thomas Stacho said the suspect was carrying a loaded handgun. [source] Isn't that stupid? If you're going to rob a place, at least be smart enough to know where the bank is. If you don't, ask a pedestrian, not a news related person. Sigh.

Cute picture of the day.
