The beginning of my Christmas List.

I've been frequently asked what I wanted for Christmas. I guess this an appropriate time to start a wish list of sorts. For practicality purposes, whimsical requests will not be included. I assure you, the list will expand and a follow-up will most likely ensue.

Obviously, you can never go wrong with superficial things - clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry - but, anything from the heart will (almost) always trump shiny things. Albeit a little cheesy...what can I say? My heart is filled with mozzarella!

Here we go...

1. A fantastic cape!

Tell me this is not amazing! I've been looking for an amazing cape. I love the color and the style of the first cape. Vibrant blue is a statement color! The size is perfect, the length is perfect...it's just perfect! The second one is fun and interchangeable between seasons. Lust.

2. Shoes.
I've been in the market for a good pair of walking shoes. Walking shoes generally entail being flat. However, I'm not very fond of ballet flats so I'm looking for something else that can be transformed from night to day. Versatility is key for my wardrobe!

3. A new bag.

I love big bags that can be used for business/school/life. It has to be big, but not overpowering. The color scheme: brown, tan, gray. For some reason, I don't like my bags to be black.

4. Accessories.

Tragic, yet true, story - I was in Vegas sporting my new owl necklace. Being me, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings and ran right into a moving walkway. Bruising my thigh, my owl necklace took the brunt of the force. I suffered one casualty- never say my owl again. I love owls. They have an omnipotent feel to them, a little creepy...but love. I also have a fish necklace. In short, I'm trying to expand a growing collection of animal accessories. No to earrings- I prefer rings, necklaces, and bracelets. Another accessory I love- SCARVES and belts. You can never go wrong with those staples.

5. Fine tip pens with a marker-like quality.

How nerdy am I? I don't care what you say! My handwriting is bad as it is, I need all the help I can get! Over the years, I've come to realize fine tip pens help, not hinder, my handwriting. Ever since my 6th grade discovery, I've never gone back since. As of late, I've taken up the habit of writing with a Sharpie, extra fine point pen. A close second fave would have to be a pen I bought from Sanrio. It's deliciously cute with an amazing point. What I DO hate- gel and loose ink.

---

On a side note, today is my last day at ABC. I bought 2 dozen donuts and 2 set of 25 munchkins. I woke up at 7:30 to get ready, packed my thank you cards, ribbon of pictures (I got crafty yesterday), and left the apartment by 9:30. From there, I went to Chinatown (the only place with the nearest Dunkin' Donuts- how absurd!) to buy my donuts. Going down the escalator, I realized I forgot another set of donuts so I ran up the escalator and made a second trip to DD. Making up time, I arrived at the bureau around 10:10. Slowly allocating the donuts - a set to the morning desk, the crew, NewsOne, and my department - I finished by 10:45. Mission accomplished! The saddest part about leaving is parting ways with the many people I've come to know...crew, especially!

Tonight, I'm going to a reception with the program. Back to where it all began: Tony Cheungs.

DC

California was amazing. Now i'm preparing for DC.
It's kind of crazy because i've gotten calls and offers from some of the most competitive, top places in the market:
CSPAN - dreadful because it's such a snorefest
Capitol Associates - lobbying firm, pays 1500 a month. very tempting!
ABC OTVS - my reporting/producing gig!
Cox - local station
NPR - what i would've opted for if ABC didn't contact me

Before DC is my trip to Austin.
I'm excited.

Rants: Roommate & Work

I hate inconsiderate people. I hate inconsiderate people that happen to be my roommate. I take a lot of crap from her. When her nasty underwear falls onto my stuff, I just move it to her dirty pile of crap lying on the floor. When she leaves her wet towel on my bed, I just move it to the floor. Since she likes the room freezing cold, I let her leave the freaken AC on. Consequently, I lose sleep because I get so cold around 5 that I just stay up til morning when I have to get ready for work around 8. When she wakes me up at 4.30 in the morning to "talk" (about herself), I humor her and talk. Now she complains about my alarm being too loud and waking her up. Which means she can't fall back asleep when it rings at 8 because she gets up at 9.

I don't know how to use my phone, but I thought I changed the setting. So when it went off on Friday at the same level of loudness, I was really surprised. After I quickly snoozed it, my roommate yells at me - "GOD, I TOLD YOU TO CHANGE IT. NOW I CAN"T GO BACK TO SLEEP" - and of course I apologize. What the hell?! I shouldn't need to apologize. This is my room, too, and she needs to learn how to deal. I don't care if she's some rich spoiled brat that gets her way at home...that doesn't work here, especially if you're living in close quarters with someone. Dang it! I tolerate a lot and you don't see my asking my stupid roommate to change every little thing that irritates me. I'm just glad she's a ten-weeker because her ass needs to leave before I get an anxiety attack. Holy crap.

This seems to be a rant post. Goodness grief. My next topic is work. I hate it when people ask me to do something minute when they can do it themselves. This girl asked me to check distribute the mail. Normally, I would do it no questions asked, but I kind of don't like the girl. She asked me to do it because she was "busy." Busy with what? FACEBOOK, of course. That is so annoying. Friday was so lame. I didn't do anything because the producer I mainly work with was out on a shoot somewhere far. Oh Golly.

I don't know how impressive this is, but I went to K-Fed's party. I had a good time. My friend's friend from out of town had a good time so I think it was a success. The friend was having a miserable week because plans fell through which caused arguments and tears. I'm just glad one thing worked out.

I think I'm going to intern/study in DC this fall. I'm looking at NPR. LOVE!!

NY and Being Asian

Do things happen to me because i'm in NY or because i'm asian?

Exhibit One:
I was walking down greenwich village and had my umbrella up because it was sprinkling. I was minding my own business, talking to my friend when all of a sudden this big black man walks past me and knocks my umbrella away. He proceeds to yell out, "watch your damn umbrella." I was really shocked, so i turned around and gave him this =O face and he goes, "that's right, you heard me." Now, normally i would say something...but i had to weigh my chances of success. He was twice as big as me...and black...and scowling. I wasn't going to win this one so i let it go.

Exhibit Two:
I'm walking to the subway and some guy yells out, "here she comes...miss southeast asia." I mean, for real?

Exhibit Three:
Two different people; two different situations - "are you mexican?" (me: ahahhaha ...oh...you're serious?)

Exhibit Four:
I'm on the subway, sitting on the seat, minding my own business (as usual) and this guy decides to stand right in front of me. He has one hand holdign the rail above me and the other in his pocket. Then he starts masturbating...followed by ruptures of noise. People saw, but didn't say anything because he was big...and black. My stop came about and i knocked him aside to walk out...all to realize this was his stop too. In that case, he followed me for a distance until he realized that i was going into a legit building. Lame-tard creepo.

So besides all the really weird things that happen...there are a few perks at work.

Exhibit One:
A correspondent (RB) needed some hair fixing, so he kneeled down in front of me (because i'm short) so that i could fix his her with make-shift gel (lotion).

Exhibit Two:
I was at Madoff's apartment because we did a standup with a correspondent (SC). It was pretty neato.

Exhibit Three:
My pitch was taken up for Weekend Nightly.

LENT!

LENT is here.

Before that, I definitely pigged out. Now that I can't, hopefully I can stick to the new regimen: no sweets (minus ice cream) and no midnight cravings. Since it's lent, you have to eat smaller portions... so I cut my serving sizes. On top of that, I hope I can make it to church every Sunday. Gah. It makes me nervous and antsy when I can't go.

The first day of lent, I was really good. I ignored the HUGE platter of really yummy smelling oatmeal raisin cookies. Not to mention that I also ignored the huge box of pizza by the platter. I felt so good, I walked away with a huge grin. The next day (yesterday), I failed miserably. Two people were leaving Nightly that day, so we had champagne and Magnolia cupcakes. I'm not one for cupcakes or icing...but it was FREE and there were a lot! Gosh darn it. That's 3 bucks a cupcake! So I ended up eating 3 cupcakes. Crapard. Since I gave in to my craving, I'm starting over. I hope I don't fail miserably again.

Work has been really eventful the last week. I've had a blast. I was working closely with my producer to put together a segment to the "meltdown" piece. I love it when I'm able to see my hard work. It's no longer a vision that's unattainable...it's tangible and visible. That's the best part of it all. Work, long as it may be, is a hit and miss. If it's a good day, I'll be busy. If it's not...I'll be sitting at my desk reading news. Whenever it hits the weekend, I feel so detached from the world because I don't have time to read on worldy happenings.

Since I've been in NY, I feel like I should keep a list of what I've done/been/eaten. I've gone out so much, that it's now a jumble in my mind. Darn.

I'm going to museums today! That should be fun.

--- ANNOYING RANT ALERT! ---

I've come to the conclusion that all guys are the same: fat liars and annoying (except for a few, of course). I know, it's not nice of me to meta-categorize all guys. But as of late, it's become more and more apparent that shady guys are all the same. If you have some kind of hidden agenda or you can't be 100% truthful than don't talk to me. Don't be my friend. That means, word of advice, if you read my blog and this applies to you....don't visit me.

--- ANNOYING RANT OVER! ---

It's kind of childish of me to insert rants like that...but it's my blog. I never asked anyone to read it. Only a few people know about this blog o' mine and I hope to keep it that way. If it becomes circulated, i'll just private it. Cool beaneries. This entry is SO fragmented. Darn train of thought.

The Famous

People I've met:

Nick Arrojo - Hair cutter guy from "What Not to Wear"
Conan O'Brien - Late Night with Conan O'Brien
Bonnie Hunt - The Bonnie Hunt Show
Hoda Kotb - The Today Show personality/anchor
Brian Williams - Nightly News
Captain "Sully" Sullenberger - Guy that landed the airplane on the Hudson
and a whole list of NN correspondents

It's really funny because if you don't watch the news, you wouldn't have a clue who i'm talking about...so most of the time...you wouldn't care. But gosh darn it...i'm excited.

Tonight was Lan's first gig. It was amazing. I also met Ted of wongfu productions. Neat-o.

Work: Day One

I was really nervous the day before going to work and it was sweet because my friends tried to calm me down. My jelly belly wasn't being nice and i felt like i was going to throw up. Yack. But I actually don't feel nervous going into work this morning. Amazing, right? I had a really nice first day. It was productive, tiring, but it felt like home. Isn't that weird? The minute i walked into the newsroom, i felt at ease. It's just like my old station except on a grander scale. Everything is magnified times 10. I still used the news program that i did at my affiliate station so i feel up to date. The people are extremely nice and warm. All you have to do is make an effort and talk to them. The more effort you put into getting to know these people, the more they are willing to help you out.

When i was walking up to the newsroom, i was talking to the assignments editor. I told him where i went to school and this lady stopped my in my tracks because we freaken went to the same school! Isn't that insanely awesome? She gave me her contacts and we went about our daily lives. After settling in for an hour, i got sent out on a shoot with the only digital correspondant (another fancy word for backpack journalist - a fusion of a reporter and photographer). That was fun. It was a story about tats. I don't think i can reveal too much, but it was very very interesting. When i got back, the two other intern girls were like "i can't believe you got to go out already." They were not very pleasant. Because they started around the same time, they deliberately left me out of things. But ya know what? I don't care because i'm not there to impress them. Girls are a pain in the butt. I mean, is it really necessary to exclude the new girl when we're all walking to the same place? I know ya'll talk about me. Sigh. I really didn't think i'd have to deal with intern crap here, too.

I shook Brian Williams HAND...and i freaken blushed. He is so handsome.

On the way home, i walked from 50th - 29th. I hate walked. I also got stopped by some guy. He was trying to wrap his hands around me. NOT NICE. Then he said, "i like your shoes." My initial reponse was...DUH, my shoes are always cute, but i said "thanks" and walked on. That guy kept following me and was like "that was a pickup line." GAH SO GROSS. He kept following so i ducked into starbucks. It took me an hour to get home because I had to stop at every other block to tie my shoe laces because they kept dying on me.

It's supposed to snow tomorrow. Kill me now.

Christmas Cards and Updates

I'm taking a break from card making. I'm really intense this year. I decided to hand make christmas cards. Normally, i love creative outlets and playing with glue...but i wasn't expecting the number of cards i'd have to make. Not to mention the little help i'm receiving from the siblings. In total...i'm making 34 cards. Holy junk...thats mucho mucho mas mas than what i was expecting.

True story: I was a little too eager, so i misspelled CHRISTMAS on some of the cards. Darn it! My handwriting legibility decreases after every card i write. It sucks and is so unreliable. I just don't see the need to spell things out clearly when i can scribble. It takes less effort and energy. I'm so lazy.

Updates!

I'm officially working at NBC Nightly News. I was confirmed...two days ago? I have to fill out paperwork and then i'll be good to go like yummy taco bell crunch wraps. I was supposed to meet up with a lady to interview face to face, but she couldn't make it so i ended having an impromptu phone interview that lasted all of 1.5 min. It was a crazy whirlwind.

I spent 4 horus of my life yesterday night trying to burn something. I eventually got it to work...but came across another problem that i can't figure out. Helps! When i burn things, the stupid audio DIES. WHY?

I ended up being a moody pain in the butt yesterday. Someone tried to cheer me up and it didn't work because i was frustrated and stressed. So i was mean to him and ended up crying. WHY?

I went out with my mom from 10-8 today. That's 10 hours of mommy time. We went to brunch and then got our hair cut. It's nothing drastic...just a tad bit shorter. Within that time, i managed to warm her up to the idea of going to grad school in CA. Cool beanery. My mom wanted black boots...so we went to THREE different malls. Good grief! We ended up buying ONE pair of shoes. I was so tired. Since i drove her around, every 2 min she bashed my driving skills. The heck?! I'm really not that bad. Sigh.

Sunday, i'll be in NY with OS. Shopping!

Bye KXAN!

I should be studying for my final so i'll keep this brief.

WORK IS DONE!
I am happy.

Here's a word you might want to look up: CONDONE (it's not what you think.)

I read a really interesting article in TIME Mag about the bible and the church's (catholic) outlook on gays. It's enlightening. Go read it. Maybe i should find the link? Eh, i can do that laters.

I work and I school

An update is in order!

What's going on at work?
I've started documenting my time at KXAN through pictures. I remember regretting not snapping pictures during my stay with News 8 Austin, so i'm determined not to do the same. Every assignment (well, almost every) i go out on, i'm breaking out the camera and taking a few quick snapshots. It's kinda fun. I've completed 4 packages and now i'm working on a standup montage. I'm kinda chillin' because there's no rush.

What's going on at school?
Thanksgiving break, baby! I'm excited because i get to go home for 4 days...sorta. I initially wanted to leave tuesday, but i have classes all day. I have to start packing up all my crap and slowly move out of my apartment, too. This stinks. I've accumulated so much crap already. My thanksgiving break is probably gonna be spent writing papers so that i don't get piled when i come back. Fall semester flies by so fast..it's crazy.

I'm kind of tired of the stupid question things i pose. After NY, i'm planning coming back...myabe taking a couple of classes june semester and then fly to Cali for some fun. Since i told LS that i'm taking OS to NY with me for a couple of days, she told me i "owed" her. Isn't that darling.

Shopping is fun! I bought this super cutesy dress that needs a littler altering ...but besides that, it's fab. It's black and keeps me in touch with my emo side. Pure love.

Christmas is coming! I want a flip cam...and a moto jacket. =]

NY and Work Probs

I'll officially be in NY from the 21-24th of December. I invited my older sis to come with me so she can experience NY, too. So now, she's super excited. I'm glad. She called me up to tell me her purchases and that prompted me to go shopping. I bought a Dianne von Furstenberg luggage business tote. It's brown with a...leopard print? Yay! I'm so excited. Since i'm taking OS with me to NY, LS wants me to take her to CA sometime during the summer. Oh geez, i need to indulge in elaborate planning.

I wonder how Stacey and Clinton from What Not to Wear became style experts.

WORK PROBLEM! Good grief, my coworker is really persistant. I told him i was busy yesterday and he still called me up to invited me to a concert because he magically had two free tickets. I don't know what to do. I need his help at work and i treasure his friendship...but that's about it. Plus, i don't do the whole office romance. Leave that to Jim and Pam.

I'm getting back into knitting! Scarves for everyone!

Elections and NY

I worked tuesday night because of elections. It was hectic but fun. I just love the buzz of breaking news. The only problem is that i came home at around midnight. That leaves a little margin of time to catch up on school work before i crash. Oh dear.

If you haven't been living in a hole, you already know who our new president is. I'm elated. Because he is the first black president, i hope they amped up security measures. I foresee a case of stranger danger and can only hope that it doesn't end fatally.

I'm officially going to NY. I got the call this morning while i was watching What Not To Wear on TLC. I initially wanted to get into a morning news show, like the Today show. My second choice was going to be a fashion magazine so i can dabble with fashion journalism. The rep called me and questioned me about my choices because it confused him. Apparently, my cover letter exemplified nightly news, but my area of interest was morning news/fashion. I should have realized that there was something incongruent about my train of thought. He was able to convince me into an interview with NBC Nightly News because it's "substantial" news. If i want to "learn," nightly news is the way to go. The only problem is that i've been doing nightly news and as much as i love it, it's only secondary to the fluff crap i like. Isn't that sad? I like cultural journalism, but i also like writing about stuff that i care about. I guess i can caategorize that into international news. That being said, i'm not a big fan of local news. I've had enough of bus accidents and murders.

To pacify my thoughts, i'm also interviewing with some magazine. I'm not big on the magazine idea because i DO love news. The more i work at KXAN, the more i'm persuaded that i love it. Now i have to question, is it genuine or is it only a temporary reality? I don't know. Blah. I just want the opportunity to contrast mornign and nightly news. That's all i'm asking. I can pass on the magazine. I just want to feel happy and confident about where i'm working since i'll be there 40 hours a week.

LS and a friendly penguin are visiting this weekend! I'm so happy. I miss LS so so so much. I also miss my family, of course. The whole missing thing is probably attributed to the fact that i'm stressed, hungry, tired, and helpless (at editing). Yay for sisterly fun! I'm so excited.

What i've been working on:
SING! - Homecoming's battle of the organizations
MINI DOCUMENTARY - Ableism
TAPE RESUME - 2 more packages to go

Yah, no more lists...i start hyperventilating when i see all the crap i need to do.

Halloween and Weekend

Why am i so stressed again? At work, i'm trying to construct a package and it's taking me longer than expected. I ended up going into work today and went on two vosots before i worked on editing. What a pain!

The first vosot was about APD's PAL boxing. It was fun, up until these prepubescent teens kept talking about my butt. Oh my goodness, i was so embarrassed.
The second vosot was about Angelheart's renovations. Angelheart is a haven for abused kids. They were going green because the cost of living was rivaling the amount they pay for mortgage.

Tomorrow i'm going back in to get a couple of vosots, do a standup and out, edit, and track. Hopefully, it won't take longer than 4 because i have church. Oh goodness. I realized that i have to hurry up with this because once thanksgiving hits, it's all downhill from there. Once I come back, it's finals week and then i'd have to stay behind extra weeks to get my resume tape complete. After that, HOPEFULLY i'd be flying to NY to complete a couple interviews for my possible internships.

On top of work, i'm a full-time student. Stress much? No wonder i'm breaking out like a beast. It's pretty disgusting.

I hope ya'll had a safe/fun halloween weekend. My plans fell through because girls became unreliable and drama-filled.

But i still had fun dressing up! Makeup does wonders. My hair was all big, but it fell by the end of the night. Boo. SEE...the pic shows you my chub. Love handles ftw.

Work day

The Decemberists are coming to town. Have you heard of them? I haven't had the chance to listen to their stuff, but i've read up on them. They sound mighty cool and very much like my kind of music. I'll update more on them when i get a chance to listen to a few of their tracks.

While i was walking to my car, my heel got caught in the grass. Normally, i like walking across the gross. For some reason, i think it's fun getting the heel wedged in dirt. But this time, i got stuck and nearly keeled over. Isn't that so weird? And on my way to work, birds pooped on my car...twice! What the heck? I don't get pooped on when i'm parked, but when i'm mobile...it becomes a poop fest. That's so annoying. Somewhere along the way, some stupid driver nearly ran into me on the road. He was speeding and was cutting everyone off. I was slowly merging into the next lane and here he comes...zoom zoom zoom. I swerved liked crazy. It also brought back memories. I was so afraid and started hyperventaliting/tearing up because it was such a close call. I mean, if i get into an accident...i'd be dead. Doris can't take much impact. Anyways, i hate accidents.

When i got to work, i went out on a couple of vosots and called it a day. It was really fast and simple. What makes work bearable is having someone there you can call a friend. It's so nice. There was breaking news today! Right on lamar, there was a huge fire. On 35, there was a huge accident that turned the freeway into a huge parking lot. What the heck? Why do people like to crash other people at night?

Because of the crazy things happening at night, i had to take another route home. That caused me to get lost. Once again, i was hyperventilating/stressing because i don't react well during the night. There are weird lurker/creepers out there in the shadows. It took me an hour to get home. that was after i called my so-worked to help calm me down. Isn't that an insane mess?

I went out with a co-worker after the vosot to grab dinner. Austin is known for their dinky restaurants with great, undiscovered food. We went to this small, pink house that sold yummy BBQ. It's authentic "black" people bbq. Isn't that funny? I got brisket and sausage. It was so delish. I brought extra so i could bring it home for my roomie to grub on. Yay.

Now i'm on the couch, windng down by watching some jon & kate plus 8. Love that show.

Unforgiving Shoes and decisions

Quick blog before i go to bed. It's about 11:30 and i just got home from work. My feet are killing me! That's 10 hours of prancing around in one of my most friendly heels. Well, i guess i should call them my "5 hour" friendly heels. We were out covering this Ike story and i eventually chatted up an evacuee. She was super friendly and kept commenting on how i looked so pretty! I was so blush. I just didn't know what to say. Anyways, that made my night a little brighter. After talking to everyone in the workplace, i think i've come to the conclusion that i don't really like reporting. I was talking to a night time reporter and he said, "you work your ass of for as little pay as they can get away with." I remember another one telling me that the salary is equal or less than a teachers...that is unless you are an anchor. I don't worry so much about the pay because i strong beleive that if you love what you do...the money shouldn't/wouldn't matter. The point is (i'm reitering this from a previous post)...i am not married to news. It's just something that can't be forced. I've gravitated to a coworker and he's sort of taken me under his wing. He's been in the biz for awhile and it's totally an eye-opener. I just know i love writing. I love journalism. I love telling stories. What is there? Print? More like web now.

Before i was looking at another news internship in NY with NBC, an affiliate of KXAN. Now, i think i'm veering away from that idea. I want to dip my fingers in the magazine business and give that a try. Afterall, it is NY. Decisions, decisions.

The experience is what you make of it. That's what i've decided. I come in with a game plan and from there, i make things happen...to the best of my ability. One of the hardest things for me to do is just be assertive. You'd think that because i'm loud, crazy and overall outgoing that i wouldn't have a problem with this. Blah. My parents worry about me the most because of this. They know i take a lot of crap from people and eventually, i let them "walk" all over me. Not really to that extent, but you get my gist. Confidence issues. Must work on that!

You know what is embarrassing? Calling your new friend the wrong name! Gosh darned. For some reason because of her exotic background, i kept calling her "Natasha." At least her real name wasn't so far away from the fake one. Good grief. I even forgot to wish my good friend happy birthday. I'm an epic fail monster lately.

This weekend i must study for a test and write a paper. Exciting.

Work and Pizza

I am now an anonymous follower. It's a neat little feature i just recently learned about.

One of the reasons why i like working (despite what you may read) is that i get to dress up and prance around in heels. It's fun. It's contract renewal time. This Monday, a popular anchor had to say bye-bye. It's kind of sad, but i definitely understand why she left. Night shift is so chill. You only get the 5,6 and 10 o'clock news, so there is a lot of down time to fill. I learned today, that i have a long torso. When i sit, i look tall. When i stand, i'm a shorty again. That's a first. A lot of people tell me that i give off the illusion of being vertically gifted. Isn't that nice. At least i have an illusion going for me, that's more than what others have.

Lately, i've been eating at Down the Alley Bistro...one of the cutest/healthiest places...evar. I've liked it so much, i've started taking "cooking" tips from it. During the summer, my older sis introduced to me "no knead bread." That is the most amazingly easy bread to make. Anyways, i now know how to make home pizzas! It's so yummy and cute. I even got my friends to start making it. Yay for solidarity.

I know what makes me tick now. I'm preparing for my autodrama. Hopefully i can fill the 10 min void. =] Wish me luck, my perf is on thursday.

Ike Update

Ike was a disappointment. There was no rain...no nothing. We did get a lot of wind though.

I am so sick! I've been sick for almost a week now. I don't know if i'm ever getting better. I had to call in sick for work tmr. Well, i shot them an email. They probably think i'm a lazy bastard because i keep having to cancel work. But there is merit to my excuse. Does that count any?

Dissecting my life is hard. Performing it is even worse. When you're on stage, everything is amplified. I'm just afraid of getting all emotional. Blah.

School

Sunday:
It's so chill today. I absolutely love lounging around doing nothing. I was actually catching up with youtube today to see what was up. While i was browsing, i hear this loud noise coming from outside my window. When i looked outside, i found a white guy practicing his bagpiping skills. I was so thrown off. At first i was intrigued and then i was annoyed. His playing got progressively better, but it was so inconsistent. I'm just thankful the guy doesn't play at night. I need my rest.

I've been so miserable lately. Since last Wednesday, i've been having lower abdominal pains. I haven't a clue what it is, but my mom has been lecturing me about the "possibilities." She narrowed it down to my diet. She thinks i haven't been eating enough. As much as i eat, they all think i'm toying with the idea of anorexia. What they heck? Then she said it was because i didn't consume enough vitamins, so she went out and restocked my empty collection. Her last observation included tampons. Tampons are bad, unnatural and therefore, unhealthy. I think she needs to give me a little bit more credit. Oh well. At times, it's easiest to just agree with everything your parents say.

Monday:
Today isn't so bad. The whole waking up early was pretty brutal though. I figured out my schedule at KXAN and they are definitely working me. On MWF, I have class from 9-11 a.m and then i go to work from 2-10 pm. Thankfully, i have T/TH and the weekends off. That's better than my old schedule at News 8. I just hate working 24 hours a week with no pay. It's just so devastating.

This year, most of my classes are piled on T/TH. It's so different from last semesters. I definitely need to get used to this. It's hard getting into the swing of things when i'm already this busy. Blah.

I'm just glad to be home, sitting on my sofa, and munching on cookies. Yum.
