Hellboy

I saw the preview for Hellboy II and thought it was super cool. Before it comes out, i wanted to catch the prequel. So we (the bf, little bro and sister) went to blockbusters to rent the movie. While i was there, i remembered that my friend recommended 3:10 to Yuma. I'm not a big western movie, but i'll take their word for it. Hellboy was surprisingly good. My initial thoughts about this film (before watching it) was that it would be cheesy, unbelievable, stupid, etc. The plot was coherent, the action was nice, dialogue was decent, and there's a romantic storyline! Sometimes i think the things Hellboy says are incredibly stupid and cheesy. Besides that, the script was bearable. I really liked the cast, too. Selma Blair was good at portraying the whole "i'm confused about my powers." My favorite character has to be Abe Sapien. He's one hotty monster. During the movie, there were several times that i thought both Abe and Selma were going to die, but little sister kept reinforcing the notion that they were in the Hellboy II trailer. If you are looking for a good, fun summer flick, watch this. If you are going to watch Hellboy II and have never seen the first movie, watch this. You don't want to be left out of the loop! I give this a 4/5. The missing 1 pt is because of the stupid lines Hellboy says and the big unresolved "fight" between Hellboy and his dad. I'm not sure i liked that the dad died without telling Hellboy of his current health situation and the whole "i'm not really mad at you, i just want you to grow up" thing. Parents can be parents though.

I haven't seen 3:10 to Yuma yet, otherwise i'd review that. Summertime is the time i spend countless hours watching movies and tv. That's why i don't really have a social life. Ha! After watching Hellboy, we ate at an Indian place called Maharaja. I love love indian food. The spices, the aroma, it's so intoxicating. The thing i like most is the bread. I have to learn how to make naan because it sure is tasty. The food felt authentic. The atmosphere was kind of dim and dreary, but it was nice. I'm glad we walked away full. We didn't have a chance to cut Ollie's hair today, so we might schedule it...Thursday? I have no idea. I just know that her hair is crazy gross. It's all over the place. We love her scruffy hair, but it just looks grungy now. Anyways, Ollie pooed near the sofa and i told my little brother to clean it up. He's a big wuss and a bit girly. He's afraid to get his hands dirty. Sigh. So when i hand him the paper towel, he starts crying like a baby. I keep telling him to man up, but i don't think he gets it. It's so annoying. I don't know what to do. I'm afraid that he'll get picked on in school and other bad consequences.

When i got home, my little sister's friend came over. We ended up watching an episode of House and The Mole while playing Apples to Apples. I love that game. It's so funny. I like it because it shows how well you know a person. The only problem i have is playing with my older sister. She's way too aggressive and a sore loser. My little sister and her friend knew me the best according to the game. I wasn't so surprised. While i was still at home, i became fairly good friends with my little sister's friends, so it's all good. My dad was telling me that i had to start packing for our vacation. We leave on saturday and he wants us to pack up everything. Isn't that so crazy? I told him that we've got so much time and that he needs to chill. I've noticed that my mom has been buying a whole lot of new dresses lately, so i asked her why. Basically, we have to get dressy on the cruise. Gosh darn. I don't really have anything i want to wear for that occasion. This gives me another reason to shop! I haven't bought aything lately, so hopefully i'll find time before we leave. The bf and i talked about a good date to shop and we thought wednesday would work for both of us. Yay!

In Singapore, a 19 y.o boy was caught peeping in the women's restroom. He pleaded guilty and has to do 60 hours of community service, observe a curfew as part of his sentence and continue psychiatric treatment, the Straits Times reported. [read more here] I can't believe he did that. Isn't Singapore supposed to be gung ho about regulations. It's also Asian, so saving face is a big deal. What a disgrace! I kind of feel bad for him, though. Everyone makes mistakes...and he's so young! Poor thing. Sometimes i seem bipolar.

Cute picture of the day.

Banana weeny dogs. LOLS!
