Movies Galore

I sing for you.

I hate the awful feeling you get when you finish a movie with a bad ending. Well, it was a bad ending according to me. I was watching this movie called "A World Without Thieves" starring Andy Lau, Rene Liu and Li Bing Bing. It was an undoubtedly, beautifully crafted movie. I really liked the actors and the neato kung fu choreography. The actors were very convincing and very believable. I liked everything up until the ending. It leaves you with a sense of overbearing sadness. I was tearing up. That isn't saying much, but it's something. I like happy endings where the main actors live happily ever after...TOGETHER. If that happened, this would've been a pleasant, happy watch on a saturday afternoon. Even though Andy Lau is old, i love that guy. He's such an amazing actor. I remember when i first saw him a long, long time ago in the series "Than Dieu Dai Hiep." Gosh that series was good. He was a major hunk when he was young and he still is!! I can still imagine him wearign his little brown gard, flying about around the trees. Sigh. I don't know if i'll ever rewatch this movie because i don't think it's worth watching. I just don't like it when things don't happen the way i imagine it to happen. It upsets me. He isn't supposed to die and she isn't suppose to raise their child by herself. That's just so darned sad. Gosh! I kind of wanted to watch a good romantic comedy movie. Yesterdya, i started a movie starring Charlize Theron called "North Country." That mess is sad as heck!! There's no romance, no comedy, just somber reality. So, i went to my library and rented a couple of movies. The library is so fab. There is no fee, like blockbuster. The only stinky thing is that the movie collection isn't all that great. Oh well, can't complain. Free is better than fee, that's for sure.

I went out to eat this afternoon at Dos Salsas. I went with my friend, her bf, and my other friend. It was all fine and dandy until check out. I wanted to split the check, but friend's bf wanted to take the whole thing. I had a mini-argument with him, until the waitress settled it by saying, "he is man, he will pay." Gosh darn!! Whenever she said that, i immediately thought about the time the bf took my siblings and i out to eat thai food. I told him i wanted to pay and he adamantly refused. When the check came, i grabbed the slip and ran to the counter. I told the cashier i wanted to pay. Out of the corner of my eye, i see th ebf slowly walk up to the other side. He said, "i'm paying." Then i started to say stuff and then the bf said stuff. To settle the matter, the lady said, "he is boy, he will pay." I kind of looked at her shock. She refused my money! It doesn't matter who pays as long as she gets the money...right? She shouldn't have refused me. I was there first!! But yes, that was what happened. I love those moments. Whenever i talk about something, i love it when bf memories pop into my mind. It gives me a warm feeling inside. And then, when it does happen, i like talking about it and telling my friends about the memory in full detail.

Yesterday, the bf brought me Tae Bo. I was doing it for a couple min and then gave up. I just don't have the stamina to go through it. It's so fast. 5 min went by and i was definitely working up a sweat. That was disgusting. I'm officially weak sauce times 2. I'm looking at Billy Blanks and now, i remember who he reminds me of. He looks a lot like Heidi's husband, Seal. Except Seal has a big scar running down his face. Sometimes i catch myself talking to Billy. He's like, "you need to remember to have your thumbs up." I fix my thumbs and Billy goes, "good job! now you've got it." And i'm an idiot because i laugh and say thanks. At least when i'm doing tae bo, it feels like something is working out. With the tahitian thing, i just felt like i was moving my hips in a circle because "that's what tahitian dance is." I'm not saying this is less embarrassing. It's all embarrassing. In the tahitian thing, i was imitating this hula-hoop move where i thrust my pelvis in all directions. With billy, i'm bent over and thrusting my pelvis in the air. I think it was supposed to stretch me. That was a hard move and very painful. I didn't last very long with billy. I lasted longer when the bf popped my chin pimples! Thanks hunny! I think i stuck with billy for about 10 min (or less) and then jumped into the shower. Now, i feel ten times better. I almost have a 4-pack! You can sort of see it forming! For some reason, my thighs are super jiggly. I don't know what exercises to do to tone them up. My goal is to no longer have massive thunder thighs.

I should call this movie night or something because i'm popping in those dvds like candy. I watched Pillow Talk for several reasons. I heard a lot about Doris Day, but have never seen or heard anything from her until now. The cover has pink and purple! This is a definite girl thing. The couple are holding hands and are smiling at each other, a sign that it's going to a a happy romantic-comedy (with a good ending!). Most importantly, on the back of the cover it promised a "delightful romantic comedy that started it all." How can you refuse something like that! This movie is so darling! Rock Hudson is so handsome and so charming! Doris Day is so lovable and feisty. The movie altogether was just wonderful. It made me laugh out loud, smile, giggle, and just go "awww" at the most sweetest moments. If you are a sucker for these types of movies, this is a must see. It was released in 1959, so it's old. But the old-school charm is sometimes a lot more refreshing to watch.

Had enough of the cheesy stuff? Well, there's more where that came from!! In Atlanta, a man asked his girlfriend to marry him by proposing through the USA Today crossword puzzle! It's something the couple do together on a daily basis, so he submitted his marriage-themed puzzle into the newspaper and it was accepted. The gf said she was a little suspicious about the theme, but it wasn't until clue 58 across that alerted her, "Question that pops up," and the answer was "willyoumarryme." That was when the bf lowered himself to one and and presented her with a ring. [read more here] Isn't that so cute!! I think it's romantic, smart, and creative. It's above and beyond the ordinary. It's so cute that his plan worked out. It would've sucked if she said no.

Cute picture of the day.

The cutest clutches! I want!!
