Money Money Money
I spent a good 130 yesterday. Why? I really do not know. I was tempted and obviously, I did not win.
There's this adorable street market down the street that opens on Sat & Sun. Sellers from all over DC come with a beautiful array of fresh produce and other lovely things. I walked away with an ugly sweater and a ridiculous tutu...on top of yummy fruit and hummus!
Now, the ugly sweater is considered "ugly-beautiful." For some reason, I have a soft spot for all things terribly ugly. Why? Because in my eyes, they pass the point of ugly into, what I call, "ugly-beautiful" territory. And of course, that's when it gets dangerous. As for the ridiculous tutu, I haven't a clue why I purchased it. I think it had something to do with peer pressure and my love of lace. No matter - I'm going to wear it and love it anyways!
Hummus is delicious and I hope everyone starts eating it...immediately. I bought this Indian spice hummus of which I consider the BEST spent money of the day. After I managed to blow 75 bucks at the eastern market, I blew off more money on dinner and late-night taxi drives because me and my friend were adamant about going out....even in the pouring rain. Not to mention, we did meet ridiculously cute Greek men, both of which were named, "George." For our convenience, we called them George 1 and George 2, respectively. One was in the Greek army - need I say yummy?
After a night of bar hoping, I met people close to home - fellow Texans! I've never been happier to be surrounded by southern hospitality. Is this a clue that I'm missing TX? Never!!
The night is young and thus far, I think I'm feeling DC.
