I'm officially in NY
The flight was very easy going and very fast. I thought i'd have a tough time with my connecting flight, but it was super duper smooth. I left at 11 from my house and ended up in NY around 5:45. On the plane ride from Atlanta to NY, i met a NYer named Jennifer. She was telling me to lose my southern charm and thicken your skin because you aren't going to survive in the city if you are nice. That wasn't so fun to hear. Then, she started talking about the plane that landed in the Hudson and how it was God's doing that they survived, not hte captain as the news claims. Well, newsflash girly: the news cannot report on unreliable sources that are individually based. Faith is not tangible and people have a hard to believing things that cannot be seen. When i told her that, she was like - I GUESS. Anways, I took a cab to my place because i had two big suitcases. I'd rather not deal with the train and finding my way at night. The cab driver was nice, but got mean when he rear ended a car because of stop and go traffic. Then, he started yelling obscenities. That wasn't so fun. After awhile, he apologized and dropped me off at the curb where i walked to my place.
I live on the third floor and its ridiculously tiring to climb the staircase. I quickly made friends and introduced myself to the house. Everyone is realitvely nice because they all come from places where i'm from - NOT THE CITY, but from small schools. Everything is so overpriced here. I went grovery shopping and literally spent almost 30 dollars on...7 or 8 items. That is so ridic. So i emailed my momma asking her to send me dried food.
It's been freezing here lately. I've decided i am not a fan of the cold...at all. Although i do prefer the snow over no snow. At least when it snows, it's a lot less freeze. I've been doing a lot of touring the city, so that's been fun.
I never have any luck with roomies. This girl is kind of mean and intense and messy. That description sort of sounds like me, but i wouldn't show that side of me so early on in the sem. Darn it. The first night, the room got too hot and she started cussing out the world. She woke me up at 4 to tell me to turn of the space heater. Then, she decided to open the window where cold air flew in my face because i'm right near the window. I told her to turn on the ac, but she was like, "that's a waste of energy." Two minutes later, she turns on the ac and finally stops being grumpy. She also leaves all her darned drawers opened, so i keep walking into them. Gah.
The stupid fire alarm started today. I think it was a false alarm. Someone burnt a potato? Anyways, i got stuck in my room because the doors jammed. So i took the time to sleep some more. I said hi to the firefighters that came by and ended up sleeping for an hour more.
I'm watching Moulin Rouge right now. I think i really really like this movie.

Oh wow, look at all that snow. It looks like you're in a winter wonderland.
That roommate of yours sounds just like mine (except for I actually didn't confront him with anything and just kept to myself). Now he's gone and I have the room to myself :) Talk about no maners. Shes a part of your news crew too???
Mann.. I HELLLLLLA need to see moulon rouge or however you spell it. This is the second time today I've run into it. I think it's a sign to watch it.
