Music and Wall E

I'm in love...with Adele. Her music is so beautiful. I never buy cds, but i'm sorely tempted to buy hers. Can you believe she's only 19? Her voice reminds me of a mix of a couple of artists that i love. It's great that she embodies all of them, that way i can only listen to her stuff and still get the feel of other singers. This singer-songwriter relies on her voice, something many artists can't truly say today. I used the word, "full-figured" to describe her body shape. I guess that's synonymous to the whole "plus-size" in clothes terms. I applaud her efforts in breaking the mold. I've been listening to her on youtube and saw this really annoying comment about her size. It went something like this: "She shouldn't be fat, that's promoting obesity." That argument can be used for anything about anyone. There's no happy medium here. If she was stick-thin like amy winehouse, she'd get bashed. The thing is, she always wears billowy shirts...so you can never really get a good guesstimate of her size. Why can't we just call her a healthy chub? I guess to me, she doesn't look fat...just healthy. I'm not sure if i want to define my kind of "healthy." If you are curious about her music, check out Hometown Glory and Chasing Pavements. I think it's time i take a look at some download sites.



Yesterday, my mom bought this blue, sequined, prom dress-esque dress. She went shopping because of a wedding she was going to later that night. I told her what i thought about it and she ended up wearing it anyways. So when i saw her the next morning, she told me what happened. She was very pleased with her dress option because apparently, tons of people complimented her. I guess that means i don't have taste. haha. Anyways, don't you like the kid playing guitar! I've fallen in love...yest again! Instead of a woman, this time an 11 y.o korean boy captured my heart. He is absolutely amazing. I can listen to the guitar all day everyday. I've been enchanted by the works of Paolo Sereno ever since my friend introduced me to him two years ago. Apparently, my friend is really good friends with Paolo. He ended up composing a couple of songs just for him. So i was pleasantly surprised that young Sungha played an arrangement by him. Anyways, this kid is magnifico and even better, he's so darned cute! I love how you can thoroughly see him enjoy his craft.

I'm watching Miss Universe '08 right now. I was wondering why my dad was so invested in watching it because normally he wouldn't care. Apparently, this year's contest was held in Vietnam. How amazing is that? I thought america forgot about our little country. T.V totally glamed up VN. I was there a couple of years ago and defintely did not remember the places as they are now. Time must have been really kind to the buildings, that or the media has a way of beautifying everything. That might be it. Miss VN made it to the top 15. That's kind of neat. I don't think the girls are all that pretty this year. There's always a sense of...fakeness to them. Usually, it's their nose. I think MX looks the most natural. I hope she wins.
