3 events.
In 3 days, I've been to 3 different coffee shops: Sidamo, Savo, Ebenezer's Cafe. Out of the three, I like Savo the best...although Sidamo gave me a free chai tea latte. It's a close race.
At EC, an Irish man (IM) sat next to me.
ME: writing my paper.
IM: talks really loudly about his career.
ME: feigning interest.
IM: nice to meet you.
ME: nice to meet you, too.
IM: i have to go.
ME: ok, good luck with everything.
IM: picks up and leaves.
3 mins later
IM: awkwardly comes back into the coffee shop and looks around (as if he left something behind) before making his way to my table. can i have your number? it'd be really nice to meet up sometime.
ME: um...i'm sorry, i'm actually leaving DC and returning back to TX.
IM: so...your number?
ME: i'm never coming back to DC anymore, so my number wouldn't be a good idea. sorry.
Awkward.
I had dinner with my co-worker at GMA before my flight back to TX.
His kind words summed up:
Judy, you are truly amazing and I adore you. I'm proud of you. you have such a big heart and I know you will go far. I'm so glad you came to ABC.
And that's precisely the reason why I LOVE ABC.
Besides working on my personal statement and tying loose ends, I was big sister. LS proudly told me that she got an A in bio...with B's in her other classes. With the first semester over, her GPA isn't near her goal mark. So I lifted her spirits by telling her about my tragic first year- one of which I want to desperately erase!
My first semester I had 2 As and 3Bs. Second sem, I had 3As and 1 C. My total GPA was an embarrassing 3.3. After 4 years, with hard work and luck by my side...I raised it to a 3.6. THERE IS HOPE. HOPE HOPE. DON'T GIVE UP!!!!
DON'T GIVE UP. If you do...I will be very disappointed.
