Miserable Birthday Update
The birthday itself was tragic...but the before and after was really sweet.
A couple hours before my midnight, my friends surprised me with a cake. It was delish and such a thoughtful thing to do. After cake, we got dressed and a few of us went to the club. Got home by 3ish, went to bed by 4ish and woke up at 8 for work the next day. When I woke up, my guy friend made me breakfast: choco pancakes, fruit, and potatoes.
Then work happened. Work is a never-ending, miserable nightmare. Well, that day happened to be a miserable tragedy. I was accused of losing something and spent all day finding that something i didn't lose. I started crying around 5, got chewed out by someone in front of my exec producers, stayed overtime 2.5 hours to look for what was lost and got on the train back home still in tears. Got home, cried some more...got a headache and ended up sleeping.
The next day, I got a call telling me they found what was misplaced. A couple hours later, my supervisor called me to chew me out for not calling in a sick day. I asked for the day off a week in advance. So I told her I had the emails telling me that she oked the whole thing.
Are people out to get me? I am freaken working for free.
So I spent the rest of the day with a friend. We went to Greenwich village, ate sushi (the only thing i ate that day besides the rice and soy sauce i made in the morning), stressed because of work, had pretty coffee, and came home to rest for awhile.
I received flowers from a really good friend in the mail and busied myself with putting them in water. It's funny because I thought to myself, "wow...i really want flowers." It was such a sweet gesture and I really needed it at the time.
Later that night, a couple of the girls dragged me out to go dancing. I really needed that too. Otherwise, I would've sat there and sulked.
I am recovering. I'm just tired of people asking me how my birthday went because I hate having to recall the memory. OH! And Happy Valentines Day!!
Go out and get yourself a drink.
