Valentine Adventures
In honor of V-Day, this is going to be a mushy-gush post. The bear pictured is a present the bf gave me. It's too cute! He looks like my gigantic bear, Terry. Except this one knows how to talk and has boxers. I also received a HUGE balloon. For some reason, i'm a huge sucker for balloon. I can never get enough of them. I hope everyone had a good day. Its not a real holiday and i never celebrated it until now, so its no big deal if you didn't do anything. One of the big things i like, is the v-day color. Pink is delish. My room at home is pink and green, very watermelon-summer feel. My room at school is decorated in blue-green hues. Theres barely a hint of pink, except for the hot pink fur blanket i have.
Since this was the first time i celebrated V-Day, it was hard to come up with things to give to the bf. It took a lot of thinking and creative juices to crank out something...meaningful. It was simple, but very time consuming. The whole time i was afraid that he wouldn't like the present very much, but i went with it anyways because i didn't have any more "eureka" moments. The materials i used to construct my idea: sharpie, white computer paper, scissors, markers, and a container.

First, I cut the paper into strips and started to write 100 facts about things i love about him.
Then i proceeded to mix it all up. It looks a mess, I know.
I realized that it was all black and white, so i started making little stars to mix them in with the strips. That added a spruce of color. I used the markers to make little faces on them.
Miraculously, i was able to stuff everything into a really cute container. I think the effort is self explanatory. I love how it turned out. Now, i just need to focus more on school and i'll be ok.
When i gave him the container filled with the love strips, he was really happy. I'm so glad! I wish i took a picture of his face, a true kodac moment. For lunch, we went to this adorable BBQ place. What better to eat in TX than BBQ? I always drive by the dinky, little place, but never actually thought to try it out. The bf said that those kind of places are the best. I think he's right. Never judge a book by its cover! So we tried it out and the atmosphere was so pleasant. It is cheaper than Rudy's, but offers about the same thing. We had sausages and brisket. That's my piece of bread. Then i proceeded to mix it all up. It looks a mess, I know.

Then it was off to buy a body pillow for the adorable pillow case. We also stopped by PETLAND, my all time favorite happy place. Although looking at homeless puppies is really sad, i just love love puppies. We played with a french bulldog, brindle colored. He's chubby and very chill. His face could make you melt inside. We weren't allowed to take pictures, but if we could...you'd see about a dozen pictures of the little rascal.
Then, it was sushi time. We went to a place called Sushi Sake. I'm not sure i like it all that much. It wasn't pretty, the sushi was poorly made, and the waiter was a fob. LOL! I have nothing against fobs, i think i just added the last bit just to balance the sentence out. I'm a fob myself and i don't hate myself! Yes, that is reasoning. The picture to the left is a spider roll that the bf chose. The things sticking out is soft shell crab. It was mediocre. I'm a big sushi fan. I became a sushi fan when my sister became an addict awhile ago. Ever since then, my love for sushi has grown and i appreciate it more. Now, i love trying new sushi places with the bf. If i get my way all the time, i'd probably eat sushi 2-3 times a week. The next picture, is something i chose. I generally order eel or scallops. It's a preference, but i can eat everything...or at least try to. I didn't know that the scallops weren't cooked. It was incredibly slimey and slippery. For a minute while i was chewing, i thought it was alive. Stupid, i know. One thing i did like about this sushi experience, was eating with the bf. If you are surrounded by people you love, you'll definitely have a good time no matter what you are doing/eating.
It was sad when the bf left. I'm never good at partings. Ever since childhood, i cried on the first day of school...consecutively for 5 years (up till 3rd grade?).
For those who don't have a significant other, there's now a new alternative to mate selection. A dating website claims the key to finding match lies in body odor. Women prefer men who smell very differently to themselves, and vice versa. I would personally choose a nice smelling person to date, bad BO is a major turn-off for most people. Anyways, the UK based website - ScientificMatch - will analyze a person's DNA for genes of sweat and then list potential suitors. They are using the concept of chemical attraction. Someone needs to try this a report back. I need to find a brave soul.
When the day was over, i jumped on the computer to check my email. I read about this: 6 shot dead, including gunman, at Northern Illinois University. God bless everyone involved in this shooting. [read more here] This is a true rude awakening for everyone. My prayers are with them. I think i'll end on that note.

Cute picture of the day.
