My Good Day; Mississippi's Bad Day

Ok, this post is purely for my delight. I've been wanting to change the blog, but haven't found anything that suited me...until now. It's very sleek, cute...AND simplistic. I try to stray away from the gaudy (reminds me of my momma lol!). So, i'm happy with this design. There are neat little features to it that add a little spice to the page. yes!

My birthday is tomorrow (1 hr and 41 mins :] ). I really didn't think i'd be excited about it. I think it feels different this year because the people i love actually make it appear important. i feel special and for awhile, i will gush in a puddle of delight. My mom asked me what i wanted and i couldn't answer her. i don't know what i want because everything i need, i already have. This is when the surprise tactic comes into play. Although i don't like not knowing what someone gave me, i also like the whole guessing game. It keeps me intrigued. For birthday this year, i'm just doing dinner...a little cliche, but i love it. mmmm foood.

I've read this really interesting article about food today. Sometimes i think people have too much
power, but that topic is for another day. A new bill was proposed in Mississippi today against obese people. Now, it is illegal for restaurants to serve their larger customers. Health inspectors are able to revoke the licence of any restaurant that repeatedly serves extremely overweight people. However, two-thirds of the Mississippian adult population are reportedly overweight and 30% obese. The bill was proposed to bring forth attention to the growing problem and has yet to be passed. This is quite an outrage. I don't think this is the right way to approach the obesity issue...at all. Where is the tact? And what's the obesity scale...how do we figure out what is overweight and what is obesity? It's just calling for prejudice. This is definitely a slippery slope...and a possible down-hill slump for restaurants.
