Twit. Tweet.

Does Twitter mean instantaneous popularity? I rarely use the power of the little blue bird, but I like to skim my page ever so often. Yesterday, I came across this:

I stopped caring about popularity in the 5th grade, yet this intrigues me. When did Twitter become so popular that it began invading our daily lives? The shift was gradual- email, texting, fb messaging, and now tweeting. This phenom has latched on our very being in the sense that people prefer to "dm" people to meet for brunch rather than make a quick call to their buddy. Not only is Twitter a convenience, Twitternation is a culture. In addition to worrying about your social standing, one has to worry about their internet "social" life. The "safe haven," once known as the inter-web, is now a complex world in which popularity remains prevalent. To think, the microcosm of high school will always be relived with the help of the world wide web. Thank you Twitter, for reminding me this.

Now should I care about popularity? No.
Then why did I just tweet?

omg.. finally somebody that shares my view about the uselessness called twitter. I still, at this day, don't understand how twitter is the next best thing after sliced bread. It's moronic and pointless. Do i care if you just brushed your teeth and found something gross? NO. Do I care if you just saw a cute boy and you went OMGOMGOMG HE'S SO CUTE <33333? HECK NO

In french (well more quebec) we have a word, twit (which roughly translate to "dummy" or "silly goose").. so for me twitter is a site for "twits"
