Picking up Doris
I woke up to drive to Dallas with my momma to pick up Doris. It was an extremely long drive because my mom lectured the whole way there.
MA: This is your car; You picked it out. Are you sure you love it?
ME: Yes.
MA: Good because this upcoming school year you better be smart and work extra hard.
ME: When am i not smart?
MA: Just make sure not to slack off.
Oh great, i love parent pep talks. The mini SA was so super duper nice. He basically showed me the whole car and walked me through the process of getting to know Doris. Then, we started to sign the papers and i soon found out that i'm easily persuaded. They tell me to get this and i would totally get it. But my momma is a hard customer. After consultation, we ended up being the tire/wheel package.
MA: Was it wise that i bought only that package?
ME: Sure, you're the one paying for it.
MA: But you'll be driving it! So in six years, do you think you'll still have the car?
ME: Of course! I'll be fresh out of school and totally broke. That's where you come in.
Interesting. After a long days work, i left Doris at the dealership to get tinted. I'll be picking her up...tomorrow. It's such a long drive! I think it's about an hour away from my house. Sigh. This better be worth it. My dad called me several times during our ride home to remind me of a few things.
PA: Now that i bought you the car, you have to study...extra hard.
ME: When do i not study is the REAL question.
PA: I don't care, I want to see good grades. Just because you have a car, you can't slack off.
ME: But i've always had a car.
Oh, parents...they can be silly sometimes.
